Ayacucho: users show their annoyance when they see the main square full of garbage

During the Easter celebrations, several users stated that the holiday was excessively due to the actions of some tourists.

The main days of Holy Week culminated, where many people traveled to different parts of the country to visit their loved ones and in other cases join the fervor of religion. Ayacucho is one of the cities with the largest number of faithful and tourists and what was going to be a seemingly quiet and fun holiday, ended up becoming a setting for out of control and dirt. Users on social networks did not take long to show their annoyance.

Thus, during the Mass on Palm Sunday, Monsignor Salvador Piñeira himself criticized the actions of tourists and also the participation of the Ayacucho inhabitants.

“What a shame to see the dirty square and so many alcoholized people, they are not children of Ayacucho because you (Ayacuchanos) love your city [...] They come to impose criteria on us, business. I protest from the altar, that the values of the Ayacucho architect, the man of faith and tradition should not be confused”, began the representative of the Catholic Church.

“Next year I don't receive tourists, I receive pilgrims who want to pray, who come to take care of our city,” said Monsignor Salvador Piñeira.

OUT OF CONTROL AND DIRT

The Plaza Mayor of Ayacucho is one of the busiest areas during Easter, due to the fact that in front of it is the main church. However, he did not get rid of the lack of control and unbridled by tourists.

Prior to the religious events, visitors took to the Plaza Mayor of Ayacucho, where they began to drink alcohol, to the point where the management of cleaning became uncontrollable, during the Saturday of Glory.

Many young people built human towers, trying to imitate those built by local people; however, tourists ended up performing acts that angered many users.

People who reached the top of the human tower began to take off their upper torso clothes and even their undergarments. The men also did the same, but with the garments that covered their lower extremities.

During the night and the next day, that is, Easter Sunday, the square had been invaded with plastics, bottles, masks and more waste left by visitors. In addition, people who were intoxicated would have taken to the streets as a public urinal,

Social networks did not hesitate to comment on it and stated that most of the time it was shown what the holiday was like, but not at what cost.

JALA TORO

After several protests by animal groups, the celebration of “Jala Toro” was suspended, and this is due to the mistreatment that the animal can suffer while being pulled, not only by its owners or caregivers, but by the mob that in most cases is drinking alcohol.

The tradition was that on Good Friday, bulls were taken to Alameda Valdelirios, to play with ruminant beasts to the rhythm of the violin. The next day, during the Saturday of Glory, the animals were released on 28 de Julio Avenue to the main square, where it was completed with the exhibition of passing horses, followed by the carnival troupes.

However, social networks continue to promote the “Jala toro” as a tourist attraction, creating outrage among a large group of people.

In front of the video showing how they pull the animal, several people said that there was abuse.

“I am Ayacuchana and I can assure you that they are mistreated. There are people who throw sticks or stones at him for the bull to chase them. That is mistreatment,” commented one user.
