Aníbal Torres and the times he has mentioned Hitler as an example in his speeches

Despite the wave of questioning, the president of the Council of Ministers has not stopped quoting Adolf Hitler saying that he does not flatter the German genocide by saying that he “also did good works”.

The president of the Council of Ministers, Aníbal Torres, has among his recurrent references, in his speeches, the dictator and genocidal Nazi Adolf Hitler, whom he has quoted on more than one occasion in a controversial way to give it as an example of a character in history who had good management when he built highways and other routes of communication in Germany, which would then serve to prepare that country to start World War II, which left millions of deaths.

Nor has the wave of criticism from various organizations caused the premier to cease his intention to prove that he is not wrong when he says that Adolf Hitler also “did good works”. Despite the fact that, for example, the German embassy in Lima responded to his statements stating that this character is not “a suitable reference as an example of any kind”. Similarly, the Israeli embassy rejected Torres using Hitler and Benito Mussolini, whom he also mentioned, as references forexample of prosperity”. “Regimes of death and terror cannot be a sign of progress,” they emphasized from the Israeli institution.

ANIBAL TORRES Y ADOLF HITLER

It should be noted that, before saying that Adolf Hitler was someone who “also did good works”, as early as March of this year, the president of the Council of Ministers, also spoke of the German genocide when compared to Alberto Fujimori to show himself against the ruling of the Constitutional Court (TC) in favor of the release of the former president.

“We must recognize his good deeds, but I give them as an example: in Germany was it not Adolf Hitler who made him a world power? It was him, but he was condemned, not only by the Germans, but by the whole world, for the great crimes he committed. No one is judged -judicially- for his good works, he is judged for evil deeds,” he said then.

But the comment that generated the wave of criticism was the one he made on April 7, in his participation in the Decentralized Council of Ministers, in Huancayo.

On one occasion Adolf Hitler visits northern Italy and Mussolini shows him a motorway built from Milan. Hitler saw that, he went to his country and filled it with motorways, airports and made it the world's first economic power,” he said.

Reactions against the premier's statements appeared immediately. The philosopher and radio host Fernando Carvallo criticized Torres' version and explained that it is not accurate, since, as he pointed out, Konrad Adenauer, who at the time was mayor of Cologne (1917-1933), proposed the construction of several motorways. In addition, he added that Hitler later proposed to make more roads to prepare for World War II.

AVOID TALKING ABOUT IT

After questioning and despite Aníbal Torres, he tried to explain that his intention was not to flatter the German genocide. The head of the PCM avoided talking about it so as not to generate more controversy. In a short interview he gave to the media Epicenter, Torres called it a “spoilness” to be asked about his statements about Hitler.

What I have said is that the most evil of the courts could do good works, who can deny, only you, that Hitler filled with avenues of communication Germany. The next day, I set the example of another wicked man such as Fujimori, for the crimes he committed. (...) They can do good deeds, so would we say that Fujimori did not do any good deeds? ”, he said.

I talked things as they are. You who are intellectuals what do you know about these things. What I have said is that there is no absolutely bad man or absolutely good man. It is very difficult for you to understand it,” he added before hanging up the call.

“HITLER” AGAIN

When it seemed that the “Hitler” issue was over, the president of the Council of Ministers mentioned it again on 18 April, during his participation in a coordination meeting for the attention to the problems of the Cusco region.

I gave as an example the case of Adolf Hitler, which filled Germany with channels of communication. And ignorance in Peru went to deny that, to say that I flattered Adolf Hitler. Then I let them talk for a couple of days,” he said.

The fact that I say that there is no absolutely good or absolutely bad human being, that the most evil can also do good works, does not mean that I am exalting the evil one. Because at that same conference I also said that those people are judged for bad works,” he argued.
