Angela Aguilar hinted at breakup with Gussy Lau: “Left and single”

But undoubtedly what generated the most buzz among the audience was the difference in the ages of the bride and groom, because while Angela is 18 years old, the composer of her song There where they see me, is 33, a fact that generated controversy and even caused speculation that Gussy Lau had pretended to her since she was a minor.

Now, after a period of silence, and perhaps to avoid questions about their romance, Ángela Aguilar reappeared this Sunday, April 17, at the closing of the Zacatecas Cultural Festival in the midst of total secrecy with the press.

In fact, the artist was entered into the premises through a special entrance in a neighbouring street so as not to be caught by reporters. But it was until her participation in the event that in full performance she released a few words that suggested that she is now single and without commitment.

“My album is called Mexicana enamorada, all the songs are sad, it should be called Mexican, sad and alone or Mexicana, left and single... something like that,” she said.

Pepe Aguilar's daughter also dedicated her performance to the “lloronas”, to whom she sang the classic song of the Mexican repertoire: “I was nominated for an American Grammy and I lost that one too. This song is dedicated to all the crying girls”, he declared to sing Llorona, popularized by Chavela Vargas.

With these words, Angela would have alluded to her personal life, so there was no shortage of comments that say that the singer and Gussy Lau ended their relationship after the stir caused by the images where the composer is seen brushing Angela's lips with his tongue.

In addition, the comments of José Manuel Figueroa, a great friend of Gussy, hinted that the couple suffered a breakup, saying that they want “love to triumph”, words that were interpreted by fans as a confirmation of the separation.

It was on the Despierta América program that the son of the remembered Joan Sebastian said that he “loved the relationship”, showing that it had probably already come to an end after the media stir.

“I wish love triumphs, in the end, that's the reality, I loved the couple, they made me a different couple. I already knew, I had already found out, among composers we are very gossipy,” he said, because because of his closeness to Gussy, José Manuel knew about courtship.
