After it became known that Adrián Uribe allegedly lost a lawsuit against his former musicians, the comedian denied that he has to pay 5 million pesos, however, he confirmed that he is in the midst of a legal conflict.
As announced yesterday by TV Notas magazine, Adrián Uribe would have lost a lawsuit against five musicians who worked with him. These people reportedly filed the complaint in 2016 because what they paid as liquidation would not have been enough.
According to the publication, the actor would have to pay 5 million 543 thousand 839 pesos to the musicians because they would have won the lawsuit; however, Uribe denied that this is the outcome of the conflict, although he revealed that there is such a complaint.
During a meeting with the press captured by Sale el Sol, the protagonist of Nosotros los guapos confirmed that the people who sued him worked with him for several years, but the employment relationship ended, and not on the best terms due to compensation.
In addition, he assured that for the time being the legal conflict continues because he wants to pay them what is stipulated by law, while the musicians would be asking for a millionaire sum, although he did not mention how much they are demanding.
“They will be given their due by law. That's always going to happen and they think that because you work on television you're a millionaire and that kind of thing. Well, no, you just work and have a family and you have needs and you're a normal person,” said the histrion.
As mentioned in the publication, the comedian would have offered them 10,000 pesos each as compensation, but they would not have accepted it and from the first moment they would have threatened to sue.
Because Uribe would have been confident that the lawsuit would not proceed because they were hired on a fee basis and did not expect it to stand, he would now be in trouble. Likewise, on TV Notas it was mentioned that Adrián had lost the complaint because his lawyers, far from helping him, would have caused him to lose this conflict.
However, the actor also denied that his legal representatives are doing a bad job, on the contrary, he said that they are working together to find a fair solution for both parties.
“We have the same ones. On this side, they are simply managing to be given what is fair, but they are not going to be given more either, nor, obviously, will they be given less,” he assured reporters.
Adrián did not speak about allegedly asking Omar Chaparro and Gustavo Munguía to testify as witnesses in the case, but they would not have accepted.
The same note would have revealed that, due to the very high compensation that histrion would have to pay, the authorities would have to seize Uribe's house or his cars.
At the end of the press meeting, the actor only mentioned that he will always be transparent when it comes to legal issues and emphasized that he wants to be fair with what he should pay musicians.
“I have always thought that we must be fair in all aspects and they will be given their due”, he concluded.
