A noble shine: clean the parquet with the right damp agent

A parquet floor is subjected to heavy daily wear and tear and should continue to shine as nobly as possible, something that is only possible with regular care.

Coarse dirt scratches the wood. To remove it from the floor, use a soft broom or parquet attachment from the vacuum cleaner. Then clean with a damp mop, as recommended by the German Parquet Industry Association (vdp).

What if the floor is lacquered or waxed? In this case, the appropriate cleaning agent should be chosen, since the product used for lacquered wood cannot be used for waxed parquet.

Universal cleaners can even damage the surface, rather than clean it.

If it is necessary to re-apply wax or lacquer after a while, this can be done quite easily in the case of waxed parquet directly after cleaning.

For lacquered floors, this usually takes a lot more dedication, but it is usually not necessary as often as in the case of wax.

And finally, the experts' advice for retouching small marks is that they can be concealed with hard waxes, available in all possible wood tones.
