Many of those who passed through the Congress of the Republic in the periods 2020 to 2021, due to the extraordinary election during the administration of former President Martín Vizcarra, decided to rerun for office as mayors in Lima and governors in the next elections 2022.
The list of candidates begins with former congressmen Omar Chehade and Daniel Urresti, who are competing for Lima's mayor's office.
A total of 27 former legislators from the period 2020-2021 are also running as governors in the interior of the country and another 10 aspire to be mayors in several districts of Lima. In total, according to figures from El Comercio, 37 (almost 30% of the representation) will seek a position in 2022.
The other former Fathers of the Fatherland running for different district and governorate offices are:

Mario Quispe (Independent Movement Regional Force),
Angelica Palomino (Piura Renace)
Luis Dioses (We are Peru).
Of these four candidates, only Gods remains with the same political party with which he was a parliamentarian.
In Áncash and La Libertad, there will also be a strong electoral dispute. In each of these regions, up to 3 former legislators compete.
