What a heat! strong temperatures in almost the entire Mexican Republic

According to CINAGUA, the heat wave will continue with a warm to hot afternoon environment in most parts of Mexico, with the exception of Nuevo León, Puebla, Tamaulipas and Veracruz, where heavy rain, electric shock and possible hail are expected.

According to the National Water Commission (CONAGUA), it is estimated that during the morning of April 18, 2022, the countercyclical system in medium levels of the atmosphere will maintain the heat wave, with a range from warm to hot forecast higher temperatures at 40 to 45 degrees in most states of the country.

In the face of high temperatures, Conagua offered some recommendations for Mexicans:

“In the face of high temperatures, it is recommended that the population avoid prolonged exposure to sunlight, to hydrate properly, to pay special attention to the chronically ill, children and the elderly, as well as to follow the instructions of the authorities of the health and civil protection sector.”

In the north, wind is expected with gusts of 60 to 80 kilometers per hour and possible formation of whirlwinds in Coahuila, Nuevo León and Tamaulipas; hoppers or dust storms are approaching in Chihuahua, Durango, San Luis Potosí and Zacatecas. During the morning, minimum temperatures of 0 to 5 degrees Celsius are expected in Baja California and with frost in Chihuahua and Durango.

Weather forecasts in the North Pacific are partly cloudy skies, cool morning atmosphere in Sinaloa, cold in Sonora and wind from the west and northwest with some gusts on the coast of Sonora.

However, for the Baja California Peninsula, partly cloudy skies are forecast, cold in the morning, warm to hot in the afternoon, and northwest wind in the region with gusts on the west coast of Baja California Norte and Baja California Sur, as well as gusts or blows of wind in the Gulf of California.

The Cold Front or interaction between two winds with different mass characteristics is present through northeastern Mexico and low pressure channels over the northeast, east and southeast of the country. This will cause heavy rain with electric shocks and possible hail falls in Nuevo Leon, Puebla, Tamaulipas and Veracruz.

In the afternoon, a warm to hot environment with temperatures ranging from 40 to 45 degrees Celsius is estimated in Campeche, Chiapas, Colima, Guerrero, Michoacán, Morelos, Nayarit, Oaxaca, Sinaloa, Sonora, Tabasco, Veracruz, Yucatan and southern Jalisco. Although in some states such as Aguascalientes, Mexico City, Durango, State of Mexico, Jalisco, Michoacán, Morelos, Oaxaca, and Tlaxcala, isolated rainfall or precipitation is coming in some specific points.

In the Valley of Mexico, a temperate environment is expected in the morning, warm with partly cloudy skies and the likelihood of electric shocks in areas with rain and wind. In the afternoon, a maximum temperature of 30 to 32 degrees Celsius is expected, and in Toluca, State of Mexico a maximum of 27 to 29 degrees Celsius.

In the Gulf of Mexico in the afternoon, cloudy skies are expected most of the day, electric shocks with hail falling in rainy areas of Tamaulipas and Veracruz.

For the Yucatan Peninsula, clear skies are forecast for most of the day, temperate morning atmosphere and very hot in the afternoon. Northeast wind is expected off the coast of Campeche and Yucatan.
