Trujillo: Kidnappers demand 1 million soles for ransom of young university student

Family reported this case to the police and they say they don't have to pay a lot of money.

Parents of a young university student reported to the Trujillo police that their son had been kidnapped, after he left as usual and did not return to his home. According to the account of his relatives, the student was kidnapped on Friday night and now they are asking for a million soles for his ransom.

Marco Negreiros Castillo, is a student of the industrial engineering degree, who would have been intercepted by these criminals on Good Friday night in the center of El Milagro, in Huanchaco.

Hipolito Negreiros, father of the 22-year-old boy, assured law enforcement officers that his son was in a car when a van shut him down. The kidnappers were reportedly disguised as policemen at the time of committing this crime.

“On Friday she left the house, I was on a trip and her mother tells me that at about 8 pm her girlfriend called her saying that (Marco) has been kidnapped by four people, two in police vests and two in civilian clothes. They took him out of the car he was driving, put him on a four-by-four that had the police logo and took him, that's according to the version of the girl in love. The police have already taken his demonstration,” he said to the newspaper Correo.

After searching everywhere for the young university student, the student's parents decided to report his disappearance to the Trujillo Criminal Investigation Division. As they explained, in the afternoon of last Saturday, the criminals communicated with the family and demanded payment of S/ 1 million.

For his part, the head of the Divincri de La Libertad, Colonel Giovanni Osorio, assured that they have armed a team of agents for this case, and indicated that they are collecting all the necessary evidence to release this young man. They also indicated that they are collecting the images from the security cameras of the homes where this abduction took place in order to identify the thugs.

“Now we are trying to find the possible places that have been able to arrive and corroborate versions that have been given by the lover, the relatives, as well as calls they have made to the family,” he said.

- If you suspect that they are following you, look for alternative routines to fate and avoid the usual ones.
