Epigmenio Ibarra again launched himself against the federal deputy of the National Action Party (PAN), Margarita Zavala, and accused her of entering the debate of the Electrical Reform with an alleged conflict of interest.
Through his official Twitter account, the journalist indicated that, like her husband, former President Felipe Calderón, she allegedly has blood on her hands following the national security strategy that was implemented in 2006, better known as the War on Narco.
In addition, he called her the Iberdrola deputy and “having pockets full of people's money”, for which he accused her of treason against the people of Mexico.
“Like his wife and accomplice, Felipe Calderón, the deputy Iberdrola: Margarita Zavala has her hands stained with innocent blood and her pockets full of money from the people. Betrayal is his thing. Who with her as treacherous”, wrote this Sunday, April 17, the founder of Argos Comunicación.
Ibarra's words came after the legislator of the National Regeneration Movement (Morena), Andrea Chavez, who requested that the former first lady not was present during the discussion.
At the beginning of the discussion in the San Lázaro campus plenary, the legislator asked the Board of Directors that Zavala Gómez del Campo refrain from voting on the bill, as he accused her of conflict of interest.
“For having a conflict of interest in having received millions of pesos from one of Iberdrola's subsidiaries [...] to ensure that this great Electricity Reform for the country is voted honestly and, above all, with legitimacy,” he explained.
However, Sergio Gutiérrez Luna, also Morena's deputy and president of the Board of Directors of the Lower House, replied that the matter had already been addressed and that there were no elements to conclude that the panista had engaged in a conflict of interest.
“There is no conflict of interest in the participation of Deputy Zavala in the legislative process of energy reform, since the elements that make up such unlawful conduct are not configured,” he replied.
Faced with these accusations, Margarita Zavala indicated that she put before the authorities of the Chamber of Deputies some evidence that would show that there is allegedly no conflict of interest.
Through her official Twitter account, the panista indicated that it was characters from the cherry party who determined that there is no relationship between the legislator and the Spanish company Iberdrola.
In another message, the deputy indicated that no character should be above the Political Constitution of the United Mexican States (CPEU), so she as a representative of District X of the country's capital would continue in the debate, as would her colleague Edna Gisel Díaz Acevedo (representative of the PRD).
“Nobody is above a constitutional election, CDMX District X voted for me to be a federal deputy. What they don't want is to debate, so they also want deputy Edna Gisel Díaz Acevedo not to participate,” he said.
