The good news doesn't stop for Rosalia. The Spanish singer, just weeks after releasing her acclaimed album 'Motomami', announced her eponymous world tour, Motomami World Tour. On Monday morning it was reported that the interpreter of 'la combi Versace', 'Biscuit' and 'Flor de Sakura' will be visiting Bogotá for the first time in August.
Rosalia will be singing on the 31st of that month at the Movistar Arena in the Colombian capital. Tickets to access the concert will be available on sale from Friday, April 22 at 10 a.m. local time on tuboleta.com.
“One of the best concerts I've attended in the last five years. Rosalia is a world pop icon, like Beyoncé or Rihanna (...) and 'MOTOMAMI' is an extremely dynamic album, by one of the most ambitious and innovative artists of today”, one of the reviews by New York Times reads. “Rosalia has established itself as a force to be reckoned with in live music. With a mesmerizing and electrifying spectacle and with MOTOMAMI, it creates an impressive sonic playing field,” adds Billboard magazine.
Rosalia is considered to be one of the most important artists of today. In his name there are eight Anglo Grammy Awards and one Latin Grammy, however. This is the first tour he does of such magnitude. He will be doing 46 concerts in 15 countries this year.
Produced by Live Nation, the tour will start in July. It will be, in that order, in Almeria, Spain, at the Almeria Fair Centre; making stops in Barcelona, Madrid. There will be Mexico City, São Paulo, Santiago, Bogota, New York, Toronto, Chicago, Los Angeles, Miami, Milan, Amsterdam, London and more, before finishing in Paris, France, at the Accor Arena on December 18.
The tour, as its name says, will celebrate her album MOTOMAMI and Rosalia's career which, over the years, have catapulted her to the top of the industry. This last compilation of songs had a long and arduous production process of three years of work. The international specialized press, after their also acclaimed album 'El mal querer', classified MOTOMAMI as one of the “most anticipated works of 2022″.
“MOTOMAMI has provided an expansive and out of the ordinary album that seeks to erase previous conventional lines that define different cultures, genres, gender roles and more, providing a self-portrait of modern and deeply personal musical duality of a strong, innovative and proudly feminine young woman who leads us to a seductive and multifaceted musical journey”, reads in the description given by his press team.
The album debuted at number 1 on Spotify's global album chart, an achievement that became unreleased for a Spanish musician. He also earned the best debut on the Billboard chart of any Latin album in 2022. It achieved the highest Metacritic rating (95) of any album released this year.
“MOTOMAMI shows the exceptional rank of Rosalia. She has entered the 21st century as a Kawasaki with that voice! Her pristine soprano tone and the power she wields behind her. The epic and eye-catching live performance on TikTok was as innovative as their album, setting another new level of creativity,” added Pitchfork.
