The prosecutor in charge of the arrest and search, Alfonso Barrenechea, together with troops arrived at the home of prosecutor Rojas León, located in Villa El Salvador. At first, the officers were not allowed in, who entered through the second-floor window and using stairs.
In addition, the agents are looking for the prosecutor's cell phones since they would have found only one of the three he uses. Telephone secrecy would also be lifted.
Rojas León will be preliminarily detained for seven days and, for now, he would be held in pretrial detention for 36 months.
On the other hand, the assistant to the president of the Provincial Board of Provincial Public Prosecutors of South Lima, José Luis Bocanegra Corcuera, was also arrested and six other houses were raided.
ALLEGED CRIMES
The crimes would have been committed since 2012 and would involve bribes of between $5,000 and $30,000 in exchange for reporting or filing cases that were in charge of a group of officials from the Provincial Board of Provincial Prosecutors of South Lima.
They were mainly cases of land traffic on the beaches of South Lima.
Four of the alleged cases are:
Corbacho case: in 2012 and 2013 prosecutor Ricardo César Rojas León would have received $5,000,
In 2013, he would have received $2,500 to file a complaint against two women for the alleged crime of usurpation of land. The defendants were even arrested.
In 2012, Ricardo César Rojas did not order the prosecutor on duty to go to the Punta Negra police station to take steps ordered by the police for the intervention of lawyer Willington Ojeda Guerra, who had been arrested for driving while intoxicated and resisting authority. The lawyer went free and only had to pay a civil remedy and his driver's license was not taken away.
The last case is related to the fraudulent purchase of a 70-hectare piece of land from the Municipality of San Bartolo. César Rojas would have coordinated with a judge to issue a ruling in favor of the defendants and the case to be closed. For this fact, prosecutor César Rojas would have received $30,000.
Prosecutor Ricardo César Rojas León was due to take the oath of a group of prosecutors from the Provincial Prosecutors Board of South Lima on Monday.
