A regrettable scene took place on the morning of this Saturday, April 16 at the Olympic Stadium Pascual Guerrero in Cali.
The house of La Mechita hosted the farewell tribute and burial of Freddy Rincón prior to his burial at the Southern Metropolitan Cemetery in the capital of Vallecaucana, but, unfortunately, this event was marred by the inappropriate behavior of some attendees who were unable to remain silent in full commemoration of the memory of the Colossus of Bonaventure.
The reason why whistles and cries of insults began to be heard from the stands of San Fernandino was due to the appearance in full act of Juan Carlos Osorio, who stood in a row on his side with other former players and technicians close to Rincón, during a cappella song.
The coach from Risaralda was crazy and shouted by those who are obviously fans of America from Cali, who do not forgive him for losing a BetPlay Super League final, being eliminated from the previous tournament in semifinals and who reproach him for his style of play being in charge of the Red Devils this semester , leaving them out of the group of eight with a series of bad results.
The Colombian strategist immediately noticed how he was disgusted, so in a sense of indignation and annoyance he had no gesture other than to lower his head as the ceremony progressed and the tempers calmed down.
This is how the particular moment was experienced that was recorded on video by some attendees who were filming the ceremony and noticed the uncomfortable moment:
Although some attendees did not like Osorio's attendance at Pascual Guerrero after the dissatisfaction that was left in the environment because of his work, the discomfort of the assistants was felt when they saw how some people could not separate the space in honor of Freddy Rincón's memory and disrespected the successful coach with Once Caldas and Atlético Nacional in the past.
Among the former Colombian professional football players and idols who posed next to Freddy Rincón's coffin at Pascual Guerrero this April 16 at the ceremony are: Alexis Mendoza, Faryd Mondragon, René Higuita, Guama Cardona, Guigo, Valencia Train, Zambrano Ferry, Eduardo Niño, Victor Hugo Aristizábal, Francisco Pacho Maturana, Niche Guerrero, Chilean Molina, Arnulfo Valentierra and John Harold Lozano.
The most recent conflict between scarlet supporters and Juan Carlos Osorio was when he was seen attending Atanasio Girardot stadium on April 10 to watch the game between Atlético Nacional and America de Cali after being dismissed from office as D.T. of America, succeeded by the Brazilian and Costa Rican, Alexandre Guimarães.
Through Twitter, several followers of Colombian professional football who were following the farewell ceremony of Freddy Rincón live, reproached Osorio for the insults at a time when there is so much pain involved because of the departure of the former Vallecaucano footballer. This is how some netizens reacted to the uncomfortable situation:
