Mourinho's moving tribute to Maradona at the Sanctuary of Diego in Naples

This time, José Mourinho took advantage of his stay in Naples and together with Roma paid tribute to the best Argentine player of all time. The official account of the capital's team showed a video with the Portuguese coach's visit to the Sanctuary of Diego in Naples to leave him a bouquet of flowers.

“Homage to Diego Armando Maradona” was the message published by the official Roma Twitter account, along with emojis of two joined palms and a red heart. In the video you can see Mourinho escorted by the local police and in the midst of applause, appreciating for a few minutes the imposing Sanctuary in tribute to Diez, who shone in Napoli in much of the 80s and early 90s.

“Diego never called me after a victory, always after a defeat or in difficult times. He said to me: 'Mou, don't forget you're the best'. I miss Diego's calls. He had a big heart”, was the phrase that went viral by Mourinho in November 2020, a few hours after the announcement of Maradona's death that 25th at the age of 60.

Since the death of Pelusa, in Quartieri Spagnoli, Francisco Bosoletti renovated the Shrine of the Ten and since then it has become the meeting point for all devotees and fanatics in the Argentine world.

“There is Diego, the person. And he's the one I miss the most. I regret not having spent more time with him,” Mourinho regretted at the time when he heard the sad news of Maradona's death.
