Learn English with SENA: step by step to register for the virtual courses it offers

The National Learning Service launched the program called 'English DotWork', which aims to train apprentices at B1 level

The National Learning Service, SENA, opens registration for the 'English Dot Work' program, a virtual program that will allow learning and strengthening language and communication skills in English. All Colombians or foreigners with permission to study in the country can register.

SENA's Director of Vocational Training, Nidia Gómez, mentioned:

The programme has 10 levels of training related to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR), courses start with a beginner level and at the end of the entire programme it is expected that the learner will be able to develop an intermediate level of English proficiency known as B1.

Each level has a certificate from the National Learning Service, citizens can start at the level they consider appropriate or complete the entire training process. It is a training program that gives learners the freedom to choose a learning strategy appropriate to their preference.

The requirements to access English Dot Work are: be at least 14 years old and have mastered basic elements in the management of computer and communication tools such as email, chats, word processors, Power Point presentations, internet browsers, among other basic technological tools.

To register, you must follow these steps:

1. Ingrese a www.senasofiaplus.edu.co

2. Click on the top right of the screen where it says “VIRTUAL ENGLISH”.

3. Select the level of English you want to study based on your knowledge of the language.

4. Click on enrollment.

5. Register and confirm your registration.

6. You will receive an email confirming it.

Telefónica Movistar Foundation, SENA and UNESCO join forces to promote employment

Within the framework of the Global Skills Academy strategy, organized by UNESCO, the Telefónica Movistar Foundation and the National Learning Service (SENA), work jointly to contribute to the development of people and specifically to their employability and entrepreneurship opportunities in the face of a new reality where digitalisation has redefined many tasks in society.

Through the partnership between the parties, 1,100 SENA trainers will be trained nationwide, through the offer of the virtual courses of the ProFuturo and Conecta Empleo project of the Telefónica Movistar Foundation.

Through a national call, trainers will be able to apply to 47 courses of the ProFuturo project, with which they will be accompanied by advisors to guide them in the application of the knowledge acquired in their training processes. Likewise, they will be able to strengthen transversal skills such as leadership, and teamwork with the 20-40 hour training sessions that are part of the Conecta Empleo initiative.
