After different celebrities accused Vicente Fernández of allegedly truncating the careers of other singers, Carlos Cuevas defended him, assuring that his colleague would have always helped him.

In a meeting with the press, Carlos Cuevas shared what it was like to have been sponsored by El Charro de Huentitán in his early days as a singer, this because Julia Palma, Reynaldo López and Juan Valentín assured that Vicente Fernández used to pay the media and promoters to stop the races of singers who played the same genre as him.

The accusations began after the lawsuit between the Fernández family and Televisa, as Reynaldo López reacted to the statements, assuring that Chente threatened to cancel their performances if they hired other singers from regional mexican to sing in certain shows, as well as there would be restricted to media that invited artists to imitate their style.

That's why Julia Palma confirmed that most artists from regional mexicana knew this, including her: “It's something that we all knew, especially rancher singers. I saw one of them cry bitterly. There are several (...) Juan Valentín, Valente Pastor, Gerardo Reyes, he was the one who recommended Vicente Fernández on CBS. Very few people know this,” said the singer.

That is why Cuevas replied that surely these accusations are rumors that arose because Vicente Fernández has already died, but he did not deny that they could be true.

I don't think, who knows, there are many things that everyone thinks, everyone knows, but maybe they are stories or that way. How many things do not happen when a person dies, if when they are alive they invent everything, now dead, imagine, more,” said the singer.

On the other hand, regarding the points made by Juan Valentín, he stated that he always saw good communication between him and Vicente, so, despite his closeness, he also doubts his statements. He also emphasized that the bad anecdotes that other artists have shared about the Charro de Huentitán would only be false points.

Juan Valentín, in an interview with TVyNovelas, confirmed that Palma was telling the truth about his career, since Vicente supposedly did not let his musical career be fruitful in Mexico and he had to look for luck in the United States.

“My music was not played in Mexico, I couldn't enter any palenque, the same thing being on television programs, very rarely did I appear (...) they didn't call me (...) it was difficult, even though they always recognized my singing talent”, revealed the singer.

In addition, he mentioned that due to the severe restrictions that existed a few years ago supposedly due to Chente, “ranchera music was over”, since there were very few singers who could sing regional Mexican.
