What does it mean to inri on the cross of Jesus? Interesting facts about Easter

When we remember the crucifixion of Christ, one of the most heinous punishments, a sign appears in our minds that marked the word inri, but what does it mean?

The earthly life of the son of God is commemorated in the period of reflection that is part of Holy Week. Faithful believers take a biblical journey through all that Jesus lived when he lived with men and women at the command of his father, the almighty and creator of everything. From his childhood and first evangelizations, until he reached the time of his death. It is in this last instance that specific details of what were his last days alive and who were by his side are known.

According to the Gospels, Christ was mindful that his death would occur no matter how much his apostles tried to avoid it. Added to this, the pain he suffered when he learned that Judas Iscariot was going to betray him for some silver coins. He was pursued and physically punished, from whipping to the inlay of sharp elements.

With what little strength he had left and unable to drink water, Mary's firstborn son arrived at Calvary, Golgotha. In this scenario, his garments were snatched from him to subdue him and tie him tightly to a giant cross. Without this being enough, they took some very thick nails and with the help of a tool they pierced his hands and feet.

WHAT IS CRUCIFIXION?

According to the data left by history, it was a practice that was used to expose the victim - mostly men of bad life - to a slow and agonizing death after he was physically damaged with keys and other elements while he was still alive. This event was public with the sole purpose of letting the population know what would await them if they committed similar crimes. This was perpetrated by Roman soldiers, who then removed the bodies of the crosses and threw them into a mass grave.
