Caucan midfielder Yeison Gordillo scored his second goal of the year for San Lorenzo de Almagro at noon on Saturday, April 16, during the clash against Club Atlético Platense for the tenth round of the 2022 Professional League Cup.

A frantic match took place at Pedro Bidegain stadium after a match that had four goals on the slate and in which the Boedo Cyclone let out a 2-1 victory over the final against the team led by Omar De Felippe.

A year ago, Gordillo left the BetPlay League, with Deportes Tolima, to add international experience to his resume at the age of 29. And since the start of a new season of the first division of Argentine football, Gordillo has already scored twice with the Almagro club.

The last time the former Independiente Santa Fe and Boyaca Chicó player had met again with the goal was on March 12, 2022 in the victory by the slightest difference of his team as a visitor to Talleres de Córdoba, for the 2022 Professional League Cup.

On this occasion, the native of Miranda, Cauca, appeared to score early the first goal of the day, exactly at the 7th minute of the match, when his teammate, Paraguayan Adam Bareiro, took advantage of a bad clearance and finished the goal.

In the subsequent rebounds granted by Platense's defense, Yeison found a space in the small area to keep the ball, go one meter and avoid the marks to define with the goal alone and available.

The rival goalkeeper and captain Jorge De Olivera could do nothing to stop Zapata's left-handed shot inside the small area and on the farthest pole. This is how the 1-0 match was lived in favor of San Lorenzo, with the courtesy of Gordillo:

In the 10 matches played so far by San Lorenzo in the League Cup, the Colombian has been available nine times, considering that a red card against Gimnasia y Esgrima La Plata prevented him from being called up for the February 21 game against Defensa y Justicia (3-4 defeat).

With the confidence given by his coach, Fernando Berón, Gordillo took a place on the starting roster to face the Argentine first division league tournament in which San Lorenzo is tenth in Zone 1 and practically eliminated with only 8 points out of 30 possible.

For his part, Colombian central defender Cristian Zapata also started during the 90 minutes in the match against Platense. In this match, Gordillo received a yellow card at the 31st minute for protesting an arbitration determination by central judge Patricio Loustau.

This is how the other three goals of the match were scored, courtesy of the definitions of Adam Bareiro (42′), Kevin Andrade (55′) and Brian Mansilla (74′):

2-0:

2-1: The 22-year-old vallecaucano central defender Kevin Orlando Andrade Murillo took advantage of a series of rebounds that emerged from the Cyclone defense to push the ball to the back of the net with a right hand dodging all the legs around him.

This is the first goal of the former American de Cali player in Platense after only eight games played with the Argentine team:

2-2:

In the end, the point did not work for either club and both San Lorenzo and Platense were left with eight points in the standings. San Lorenzo is tenth and Platense eleventh, considering that the goal difference of the Gordillo and Zapata team is -3, while that of Andrade is -7.

This is the standings of Zone 1 of the Professional League Cup with Racing Club, River Plate, Newell's Old Boys and Defensa y Justicia as temporary teams qualified for the quarterfinals:
