The driver of the van in the alleged attack on the Comptroller of Bucaramanga claimed that it was not an attack

The Bucaramanga Metropolitan Police found the guy who was driving. He stated that his intention was not to frighten Fredy Anaya and apologized to him

On Friday, an alleged attack against Santander's Comptroller, Fredy Anaya Martínez, was reported. The Bucaramanga Metropolitan Police found the driver of the van involved and confessed that he was not looking to attempt to attempt on the official's life.

According to the official's publication, at about six o'clock in the morning, a gray van, with ELU 856 plates from Bucaramanga, made an attempt on his life when he was riding a bicycle through Floridablanca. According to him, on several occasions he has required a security scheme in his capacity as a public official, but has not been assigned to him.

However, the man claimed that it was all due to a problem on the road, which caused this fact to arise that frightened Comptroller Fredy.

For this reason, the man personally apologized to the Comptroller of Santander for the fright that caused him on the morning of Good Friday, when the official was on his way to play sports.

After what happened, Fredy Anaya wrote on his Twitter account that the driver acknowledged his acts of recklessness that endangered his life.

Given these results that the investigation of the Bucaramanga Metropolitan Police dictated, some public figures and people on social networks criticized Fredy Anya's complaint.

One of them was the Bucaramanga Councillor, Carlos Parra, who pointed out that “Fredy Anaya is also very clumsy in addition to being dangerous. A van was reckless while riding a bicycle and reporting an attack on networks. The police found his car and apologized for his recklessness. That was the attack. The same one who lives complaining about the networks,” the official posted on Twitter.

The increase in insecurity in several of the country's major cities remains one of the main concerns of authorities and inhabitants, as well as the few judicial processes that manage to send criminals to prison. Because of this, some citizens decide to take justice into their own hands and act violently if they find a thief, a situation that happened recently in Bucaramanga.

The inhabitants of the Malpaso neighborhood, located in commune 11 of the city, are involved in a controversy, after several of them united to give an 'exemplary punishment' to a thief who commits crime in this area. However, the alleged thief was killed in the middle of the 'punishment' in which they used sticks, fists, kicks and even bladed weapons.

According to the Bucaramanga Metropolitan Police report, several people caught a man when he tried to steal a woman's cell phone in the street by threatening her with a knife. The group of people not only prevented the robbery, but prevented the thief from fleeing the place and gathered around him to beat and humiliate him, as an act of justice by their own hands.

In this regard, Brigadier General Samuel Bernal, of the Bucaramanga Metropolitan Police, spoke out that the events took place around 9:00 in the evening last Tuesday, April 12. “The witnesses stated that a person was going to steal a female with a sharp weapon and it is learned by the community who assaults him and inflicts a fulminant wound,” the uniformed man told RCN Mundo.

What is read in the Mebuc report is that the angry mob undertook it with the thief causing him multiple injuries, among them, the most serious were those with a sharp gun in the abdominal region, which would have caused death.
