A few days after the vote in the Chamber of Deputies for the approval of the controversial Electricity Reform on Sunday, April 17, there are still divided opinions between supporters and opponents of the energy project.

This has caused various discussions and confrontations among the legislators of the Chamber of Deputies, who have spoken about the disadvantages or advantages that it can bring to Mexico.

The bloc opposing the Movimiento Regeneración Nacional (Morena) party has argued that with its approval there will be an increase in electricity prices, as well as the main problem of giving higher priority to national energy production through the Federal Electricity Commission (CFE).

While those of Morena, such as the president of the Chamber of Deputies, Sergio Gutiérrez Luna, have maintained that through his approval electricity prices will be reduced for citizens.

This was stated in a video in which he went out with Sonoran deputy from the Labour Party (PT) Diana Karina Barreras, in which they pointed out that there were only two options: to be in favor of the reduction of tariffs or in favor of foreign companies.

“Those of us who are in favor of lowering rates for 43 million families, 5 million peasants, schools, hospitals, municipalities, and those who are in favor of foreign companies continuing to take our money,” said the deputy for Morena. While Karina Barreras said “Which side are you on? ”.

A similar reasoning was launched by the actor and defender of the presidency of Andrés Manuel López Obrador (AMLO) and his government called the Fourth Transformation (Q4), Damián Alcázar.

He argued that the approval of the Reform was not a matter of choosing between the investment or use of clean or dirty energy, but between foreign companies and the Mexican people .

Likewise, the comment made by deputy Gabriel Quadri for the National Action Party (PAN), who stated through his Twitter account, in which he published his criticism against the government, that Morena had already won 11 votes from members of the opposition to approve the Reformation.

However, he did not specify who they were or what parties they came from.

The vote was to take place on April 12, however it was postponed to Sunday, which was marked as a dirty move to get votes.

It is also believed that Morena will seek to postpone the votes again, according to the coordinator of the Democratic Revolution Party (PRD) bench Mauricio Prieto Gómez, because they did not get enough votes.

On the other hand, the Morenist support does not stop there, since the afternoon of this Thursday, April 14, members of the National Labour Front have been installed at the gates of Saint Lazarus to show their support for the Reformation.

Although their leader Armando Monter, he also assured that they would be willing to prevent the entry of opposition deputies, who assured that they represent international interests. And he assured that “if they are going to violate our sovereignty (...) we have every right to dismiss them as a people
