Daniel Felipe Martínez and Nairo Quintana are two of the riders who have had the best performances so far in the 2022 cycling calendar. On the Soachuno side, in the absence of his compatriot and Ineos Grenadiers kingpin Egan Bernal, he has largely assumed his role as team leader, even since he repeated title as national time trial champion.
What seems to be the best moment of his career was worked out with every competition he has done with his team, as Martinez has won three podiums in three European stage races in which he has been, being third in the Tour of the Algarve, third in Paris Nice and first in the Tour of the Basque Country.
All this has led to Europe being seen as one of the riders with the greatest options to stay with the Tour de France, according to the specialized portal CyclingNews, behind only the two-time champion of the gala round, Tadej Pogacar of the UAE Team Emirates.

On the English portal, some details of the Cundinamarquis highlighted in order to think that he could achieve such a feat: “Martínez's excellent series of cameos on behalf of Egan Bernal in the last week of the Giro d'Italia last year suggested that he himself had the ability to compete for a Grand Tour, and now it seems that the Colombian will have the opportunity to do so in 2022″.
Then they highlighted that Daniel has had better performances than the British Adam Yates, who in the first instance seems to be the leader of the Ineos Grenadiers for the Tour:
In the same way, they have reviewed the performance that the boyacense Nairo Quintana, from Arkea Samsic, has been having, since the one from Cómbita has had two stage victories and two wins in general rankings, which shows that he is at a sporting level enough to put him among the options to win the ' Grande Boucle', as established by CyclingNews.
“Quintana's ambitions in the Tour de France have gradually faded in recent years, but it seems reinvigorated by Arkea-Samsic's pursuit of victories and points for a WorldTour license for 2023,” the publication reads.

Quintana has already won two major laps in the past: the Giro d'Italia in 2014 and the Vuelta España in 2016, just missing the Tour de France to complete the Triple Crown. It is worth remembering that in the first participation in the gala round, in 2013, he managed to be second on the podium, a feat that he later repeated in 2015; in 2016 he was third.
The ranking made by the British media put Primoz Roglic, in fourth place, in the top 10 of the riders most likely to win the Tour de France, in addition to those of Colombians, Primoz Roglic, in fourth place, and his Jumbo Visma teammate Jonas Vingegaard, who was second in 2021. Other riders framed with great credentials thanks to their presentations in what has so far included the cycling calendar are the Russian Aleksandr Vlasov of Bora, Ben O'Connor, of the AG2R, and Guillaume Martin, of Cofidis.
