In recent months, indigenous communities in the department of Cauca have denounced the escalation of violence against them. Both because of the murder of community members and the constant threats against leaders, have been a constant in this region. In relation to this problem, the Regional Indigenous Council of Cauca (CRIC) denounced, through the Fabric for the Defense of Life of Çxhab Wala Kiwe, that in the last few hours the forced recruitment of three minors from the Huellas reservation was reported.
The CRIC assured that this event took place in the village of La Trampa in the municipality of Caloto, around the morning hours of Friday, April 15. In this case, three minors under the aforementioned reservation do not appear in the records. The indigenous guard verified, through the testimonies of the community members, that the three 15-year-old boys were last seen in the El Palo village, around 10 in the morning.
