WHAT IS REMEMBERED ON GLORIA'S SATURDAY?

Holy Saturday or Glory Saturday is one of the most important days of Holy Week. This represents a day of mourning, since the day before the crucifixion and death of Christ is remembered. However, the pain and hope of the Virgin Mary are also remembered, since she, despite her sadness, is the one who reminds the apostles that Jesus would rise again on the third day.

The Catholic Church points out that this was the day when the Messiah shed his blood for the forgiveness of sins in order to save humanity from destruction. This was the greatest act of love he performed for people.

This day is also remembered that Jesus went down to hell, so many communities blessed fire and water at night.

HOW IS THIS DAY CELEBRATED ACCORDING TO THE CHURCH

Earlier, on Saturday morning, the Resurrection of Jesus and the 'opening of the to Glory' were remembered. However, Pope Pius XII requested that this be changed and that the Vigil be given on Friday night, so that this date will be a day of waiting and Sunday is the official day of the Resurrection.

Despite this, in many Latin American countries, it is still called Glory Saturday even though this is a misuse and should actually be called Holy Saturday.
