The third season of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba does not yet have an official release date, but the official trailer warns the adaptation of a new arc of the manga created by Koyoharu Gotōge. In 2019, the animated adaptation of this magnificent story of demons by the Ufotable studio arrived and, at the end of last year and beginning of 2022, the second installment was issued. Soon, the new episodes that will cover the story of Aldea del Herrero will arrive.
The story of the anime is set in the Taisho era of Japan and follows Tanjiro Kamado, a boy who suffers a tragedy in his life: his family has been killed and his sister, Nezuko, has been turned into a demon. Although she initially lets out her own wild nature, she still has humanity within herself and retains her emotions. So, from being a simple coal seller, he becomes a demon hunter on his journey to take revenge and return Nezuko to his human form.
In October 2020, the hit film Kimetsu no Yaiba: Mugen Ressha-hen was screened in Japan, which was not seen in Latin America until the following year, due to the closures of cinemas due to the pandemic. Soon after, it was confirmed that the same plot that was adapted for the big screen would be told again for television, and with more details, in a continuation that was aired in 2021.
Between that same year and the beginning of this year, a second batch — consisting of 11 episodes — was released that officially covered the Entertainment District, the eighth arc of the Japanese comic strip. Now, the turn will come to the long-awaited Blacksmith's Village, where Tanjiro will meet some new characters known as the blacksmiths, who he will go to for lack of a weapon to face the demons. In this place, he also goes through battles with other demon hunters and two “Pillars”. In addition, his group is intercepted by the members of the Twelve Demon Moons.
Who will appear in the third season of Demon Slayer?
Mitsuri Kanroji and Muichiro Tokito are the two “Pillars” that will appear in the next chapters of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba, while Tanjiro, Nezuko and Genya Shinazugawa will return once again in their adventures through a world full of demons. Gyokko and Hantegu, members of the Twelve Demon Moons, will be others who will be of great importance.
Despite the fact that the trailer came to light on April 16, it is unknown when the new season of the animated series will be released. Meanwhile, fans are waiting for it to arrive between the end of 2022 or sometime next year. For now, the first season can be enjoyed in the Netflix catalog and the rest of the episodes are available on the Crunchyroll platform.
