Attention travelers: these are the road restrictions during the end of Easter

From the Directorate of Traffic and Transport of the Police announced how the country's roads are doing

With the end of Holy Week thousands of travellers begin to think about making their way back to their respective cities.

Given this, General Juan Alberto Libreros, Director of Traffic and Transport of the Police, announced the restrictions that will exist this weekend on the roads, during the return plan and invited travelers to: “If we can return to ourselves from today, let's check the safety and prevention equipment with the nine items to have. Make a review of the technology of the vehicle, tires and everything possible so that there are no problems in the trip; do not overtake and keep the distance.”

These are the restrictions and possible effects on the roads for the return plan:

- At least eight points on the Melgar-Bogotá highway could cause traffic delays due to works in kilometers: 48, 63, 3-450, 24, 15 and 11 km, so the Vía 40 Express concession will enable crossings to a lane in different sectors, including the Sumapaz Tunnel.

- In addition, there will be restrictions on cargo vehicles during the weekend, and, according to El Tiempo, there is the possibility that a counterflow will be enabled in the Devil's Nose sector so that cars returning to Bogotá can also take that one-way route that in its nature is one-way.

- It is expected that in winter, there may be new effects on some roads, especially in Antioquia.

- There will be restricted space on part of the Bogotá - Medellín highway, as well as on the road to Quibdo, which will be closed from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m.

- He also reported that in the morning of Saturday, April 16, on the roads to Santa Fe de Antioquia; as in Santander, Bucaramanga-Malaga, Florencia-Caquetá and in the Villeta-Guaduas sector, there were problems that complicated mobility in these road corridors.

- INVÍAS also reported that in the department of Norte de Santander next Sunday, April 17, there is a total closure scheduled for a cultural event called “Holy Week Celebration”, from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.

- In Santander, a return plan will be made to “guarantee the passage” today and tomorrow in the company of authorities.

According to statements by General Libreros on Blu Radio, “since Holy Week began, 6,800 complaints have been applied, especially to motorcycles (...) We had 93 people killed due to accidents this week of travel; however, it is less than the previous year, something that makes us happy,” said the uniformed at the station.

For its part, the Mayor's Office of Bogotá reminded the capital that for entry into the city, after the Easter holidays, the restriction of the regional peak and plate will be in force.

Thus, on Easter Sunday until noon, all vehicles will be able to enter the city. And from 12 noon, and until 4:00 p.m., only vehicles with even-numbered plates will be able to enter the capital of the country. And from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., cars whose license plate ends in an odd number will be allowed to enter.

The measurement of the peak and regional plate ends at 8:00 p.m. again the passage will be enabled for all vehicles wishing to enter Bogotá regardless of the number on which their license plate ends.
