The National Human Rights Commission reported that social activist Rosario Ibarra de la Piedra died on Saturday morning, April 16 at the age of 95 in the city of Monterrey, in Nuevo León. He began a movement in search of unlocated persons after the disappearance of Jesús Piedra, his son, in 1974.
President Andrés Manuel López Obrador immediately spoke out and regretted the fact. “Bad news: Mrs. Rosario Ibarra de Piedra died, who will always remind us of the deepest love for children and solidarity with those who suffer from the disappearance of their loved ones. That was his real party even though he admired Giordano Bruno,” the president wrote on his official Twitter account.
