A meteorological office is a setting for fun situations and romances in Las inclemencias del amor, a South Korean melodrama that is currently positioned among the most watched non-English language series in Netflix. Through its weekly episode releases, the series directed by Cha Young-hoon has managed to capture the world's audience with a story that explores the work and personal facet of the Korean Meteorological Administration (KMA) workers.
Jin Ha-kyung is the meteorologist in the second division of the National Weather Service and is recently living under a lot of pressure at work and life. She is responsible for leading one of the KMA teams and faces daily decisions to issue weather alerts based on data that are as concrete as possible. At the same time, she is engaged to Han Ki-joon, who belongs to the communications office of this same agency, and is planning a wedding against time.
Suddenly, Ha-kyung is alerted by a metropolitan office about an alleged hailfall in the city and other surrounding areas. Although there is some evidence involved, she does not communicate the fact to the director, because she considers that the odds are very low... But the weather does not prove her right when the hail rain begins to cause serious damage to crops, vehicles and homes in the country.
The first to notice this phenomenon was Lee Shi-woo, the member of one of the KMA branches and a complete obsessed with the weather. When he makes a trip to the observatory to ensure that the radar is operational, he observes the increase in the temperature of the earth, a fact that indicates the gestation of heavy storms in the following days.
None of the agency's leaders take it seriously enough to issue a warning, including Ha-kyung herself. And fate proves that they are wrong with the terrible hailstorm that is beginning to cover South Korea. In the midst of the mess, the woman is promoted to interim leader, because her boss suffered a heart attack and, although she is asked to issue an alert, she disagrees. This is finally issued, behind his back, by one of his collaborators.
Meanwhile, his problems continue in his love relationship with Ki-joon, as he has not paid the wedding vendors and left her out of the apartment by changing the key code. Will the protagonist be able to regain her employment status and get married or will everything turn around for her?
