The Attorney General's Office of the State of Sonora (FGJES) confirmed that it will analyze the remains found this Holy Thursday by Cecilia Patricia Flores, founder and president of the collective Mothers Seekers of Sonora, who announced that it was possibly her eldest son Marco Antonio Sauceda Rocha, who disappeared since May 2019.

According to information provided by the local authority, CIF Laboratory personnel will be responsible for determining by genetic DNA comparison the correspondence with the upper part of a skull found on the coast of Hermosillo, which, according to Flores, would coincide in shape and teeth with characteristics of his son major

Expert staff of the CIF Laboratory of #FiscalíaDeSonora will carry out the protected extraction of the discovery in the #Hermosillo Coast and determine by genetic comparison of DNA, whether they correspond to the son of the leader of the Mothers Seekers Collective of Sonora, @CeciPatriciaF,” wrote state authorities.

According to the details provided by the Sonora Prosecutor's Office, the remains were found in the vicinity of kilometer 5 of Calle 20 Sur, inside an uninhabited property. The site was attended by agents of the Ministerial Agency for Criminal Investigation (AMIC), the State Public Security Police (PESP) and the National Guard (GN).

Finally, it was determined that, due to the lack of lighting, the day of search for this April 14 was stopped, so that on Friday activities will resume in the place, which was left under the protection of the state authorities.

It was around 20:00 hours when Ceci Flores posted on social media that he probably found the remains of his son, Marco Antonio, who was taken from his home, along with his younger brother, on May 4, 2019, in the hands of an organized crime command.

Through her official Twitter account, the woman wrote a sad message accompanied by two photographs of the upper part of a skull which, she mentioned, would have identified and recognized her son's teeth.

I have a lump in my throat. I think I found my son Marco in today's search. I recognize his teeth and skull shape. I feel like I'm collapsing,” Flores wrote, after completing this Thursday's search round, which was plagued by obstacles.

Flores announced the failure of the vehicle in which they were traveling through the desert areas to carry out the activities. In addition, he assured that the collective has everything against them during their searches, since their “executioners”, a term he used to refer to local and federal authorities, do not help or protect them, an adverse situation that has not, until now, diminished his conviction to find his loved ones.

“Our Way of the Cross is eternal, because we have everything against us. Our executioners should help and protect us. The Way of the Cross that I tell you bleeds us daily, each one of us always carries it with us,” she wrote on her Twitter account.

It should be recalled that in early 2021, the woman announced the location of a bone, without a skull, which, according to the identifications and clothing found nearby, would belong to her son Marco Antonio Sauceda Rocha.

The finding was made after receiving an anonymous call that alerted her to the location of the skeletal remains. Immediately, the leader of the Seeking Mothers of Sonora went to the vicinity of Highway 100 Hermosillo-Bahía de Kino.

Already on the stretch of highway, at kilometer 60, the exposed body was found, which would have coincided with the characteristics of Marco Antonio. However, after the analysis of the Prosecutor's Office, it was determined that it was not him.
