An astronomical phenomenon such as the arrival of the Pink Moon is looming. This spectacle in the sky occurs when the satellite will reach its maximum brightness at night due to the change of the phases on the full moon. Since when will it happen and why is it a trend? Here we leave you all the details, remembering that this April is a month full of astronomical moments along with conjunctions, starfall and even eclipses.
WHAT IS THE MEANING OF THE PINK MOON?
It is called the Pink Moon, also known as the April Full Moon or Supermoon (when it is the case), because of the change that occurs in this month. However, it does not mean that the surface of the natural satellite will acquire such color.
It is called the Pink Moon because the position of the moon in the sky marks the flowering season of the Phlox plant, which is known as pink moss. This is one of the main flowers in the spring. Remember that full moons occur once a month, but they have different names such as Wolf Moon (January), Harvest Moon (September) or Cold Moon (December). In that sense, a name is given when the lunar phases occur by month.
It is necessary to know that these events can be seen with the naked eye with the help of telescopes or binoculars in order to have detail or take image captures to remember. That said, when will the event take place? The dates are close.
¿CUÁNDO OCURRE LA LUNA ROSA?
The Pink Moon will be seen this Saturday, April 16 from 6:55pm. However, it can be seen from the night before (April 15) and until the next night (April 17). According to information from DNA 40, this moon will light up the sky for two nights, when the star, the Earth and the Sun are almost aligned and will be visible from all over the country.
Remember that for observers in the southern hemisphere, the full moon will appear on the horizon below the star Spica, the brightest star in the constellation of Virgo.
FASES LUNARES
New Moon: This is the moon phase in which the Moon does not reflect light and is not visible from Earth. In other words, it happens, when the Moon is located between the Earth and the Sun. It occurs between the waning moon and the crescent moon.
Crescent room: It is the phase of the Moon between the new moon and the full moon, by which it remains illuminated in its right half. In short, we see the half of the moon where there is an illuminated portion.
Full Moon: Moon phase in which the Moon becomes visible when it reflects entire light and is perceived as an illuminated disk. Everything shines and in the distance you will be able to see the full shape and color of the Moon, before it gets dark again.
Waning Moon: After the full moon, this is the moon phase in which the Moon becomes visible when only its left side reflects light. This is where the new moon forms again to continue with the same cycle of illumination.
