In recent hours, it became known that the Second Family Court of Bucaramanga admitted the guardianship brought by the inhabitants of 40 of the municipalities of the departments of Santander and Norte de Santander, whose inhabitants, according to lawyer Antonio José Serrano Martínez, have had their right to participate in this process violated.
In the guardianship instituted by Attorney Serrano Martínez, a request was made for the suspension of environmental licensing procedures for mining projects in the Soto Norte region of Santander, where the moor is located.
It is also argued in the guardianship that during the meetings to arrange the delimitation have been held in recent months in municipalities such as Tona, Vetas and California, where communities have been convened, there have been problems because not all sectors have been taken into account.
It is important to clarify that although the admission of guardianship is a fundamental step, it is not known what judgment may be made by the judge himself.
It is worth remembering that the National Environmental Licensing Authority (ANLA) filed the environmental license requested by the Minesa company for the exploitation of gold in the Soto Norte area, in the vicinity of the Santurbán moor in Santander.
In recent months, the organized community has asked the national government to move forward with social work, with the discussion tables, but these mechanisms of participation do not go by supposed problems with virtuality.
Added to this are the allegations in which the Foundation for the Great Social Pact of California asked the Attorney General's Office and the Prosecutor's Office to investigate the mayor of California (Santander), Genny Gamboa Guerrero, for alleged sabotage by the president to block the process of delimiting the Santurbán Paramo in this municipality.
In addition, according to the testimony of Fabio Maldonado, representative of the Foundation for the Great Social Pact of California, which also includes the magazine Semana, there were alleged acts of boycotts of the official, since “the mayor is obliged to facilitate, coordinate and support the process of delimiting the wasteland. However, despite the fact that we are in the conciliation stage, the mayor together with a team of collaborators, including her husband and some mayoral officials and two councillors, have boycotted the process, that is, they are in breach of the order of a judge of the Republic”, which is T361 of 2017 for the new delimitation of the wasteland of Santurbán.
In response to these complaints, the mayor replied that there is a campaign to discredit her and that her only interest is that the process of delimitation of Santurbán is in accordance with the environmental, social and economic reality of the municipality, according to her statements on Blu Radio.
