Ana Bárbara assured that, according to her experience with Vicente Fernández, El Charro de Huentitán did not cut off any singer's career, on the contrary, it would have helped them get more attention.
After Julia Palma accused Vicente Fernández on several occasions for allegedly trying to truncate the careers of several singers and alleged harassment of some artists, Ana Bárbara came to Chente's defense and assured that he promoted his career and shared good anecdotes together.
However, she emphasized that this is what she experienced with the interpreter of This Jealousy. Besides, I would have been quite a gentleman to her.
“That's my personal experience and I couldn't tell you about anything else because they can talk and say a lot of things, but I, the proof that I have in my experience, is that he was a gentleman and a gentleman with me and we miss him,” said the interpreter of Lo Busqué.
Since last March, after several secrets of the singer came to light with the book The Last King by Olga Wornat, Julia Palma stated that she would have witnessed how Chente stopped the careers of several singers, this after Reynaldo López had revealed on social networks that Fernández was threatening to cancel their performances if they hired certain singers to open their shows, as well as restricting the media that invited artists to imitate their style.
In a meeting with the press, Palma said that “it is something that everyone knew, especially the rancher singers. I saw one of them cry bitterly. There are several (...) Juan Valentín, Valente Pastor, Gerardo Reyes, he was the one who recommended Vicente Fernández on CBS. Very few people know about this.”
In addition to this, he commented that El Charro de Huentitán even paid in some shows so that the songs of singers other than himself were not played, or from whom he did not want to hear.
He added that most of the time he invested large amounts of money in broadcasters, press and television to slow down the careers of his colleagues. However, she assured that she has respect for her memory because with her mother she would have had details that made her appreciate him.
Also in March, Juan Valentín, in an interview with TVyNovelas, confirmed what Palma said about the fact that he was one of the singers of whom Vicente wanted to stop his career. According to him, his music could not be played in Mexico, presumably because Chente had so determined. This despite the fact that they had been friends during their youth.
“My music was not played in Mexico, I couldn't enter any palenque, the same thing being on television programs, very rarely did I appear (...) they didn't call me. (...) It was very difficult, even though they always recognized my singing talent,” said the singer.
Juan assured that he would not have been the only one in this situation, even mentioning that “ranchera music was over” because of these restrictions.
