A surprising and unexpected event happened on the screens of several viewers: the transmission of Willax Televisión stopped and for several minutes was projected a black picture on the television. The incident happened while the program “Beto a saber” was being broadcast and as announced by its host, the news went viral after the complaint of several users on social networks. Several theories have been handled since the incident was recorded; however, until the closing of this note, no pronouncement was known from the authorities.
In order to know the extent of the problem, the same television station posted an ad on its Twitter account asking its followers to report transmission problems through a Google form. “If you have problems cutting or losing your Willax Television signal in your cable or open signal service, report it” reads in the publication that comes with a link. It asks what kind of problem the viewer is seeing, the cable service on which he noticed the problem and the channel on which the signal was lost. Finally, they ask for comments on what happened.
Images were also shared on Twitter confirming that the screen of some followers of the channel did not transmit any images. “Willax's open signal has been cut off for more than fifteen minutes and he doesn't come back. ”, wrote one user who added that he could not follow the transmission over the internet either. Other users also highlighted the fact that they could not follow the broadcast through the channel's website, but soon YouTube links were shared from where the programming could be transmitted.
CONFUSING MOMENT
When it was confirmed that it was not possible to connect to the Willax TV broadcast, several users considered theories about the reason for the problem. A viewer who could not watch the aforementioned channel shared a message shared by Direct TV stating that the problem would lie with the source signal. “Due to technical difficulties in the source signal, the transmission of this channel has been interrupted. You don't need to call us, we are already working to get it back as soon as possible. We appreciate your patience”, can be seen in the image shared on Twitter.
The signal was interrupted when the program “Beto a Saber” discussed what happened to the fatalities of the protests generated after the price hike in various products. Since then, not a few users have used unconfirmed theories to denounce the origin of what happened. “What is happening with Willax is very strange (...) I don't want to say that the government is behind it, we have to be careful with it, we have to be vigilant,” was one of the comments posted on social networks.
Among the authorities who referred to what happened was Congressman Alejandro Cavero, who called for “vigilance in defense of the freedom of expression” after describing the signal cut-off as strange. Willax continued with their programming and spent several minutes discussing the problem they had to face tonight, but it has not yet been possible to confirm the origin of it. It is expected that in the next few hours the relevant authorities will disclose the causes of the strange event. At the close of this note, Willax's signal through Movistar was still stopped, but through its website it was possible to obtain image and sound.
