At this time of Easter or at any time of year, you will be able to get to know and enjoy one of the most romantic, beautiful and European-style destinations that there are in Mexico. This is Val'Quirico, the medieval village built on the ruins of the Santa Águeda hacienda.
This residential complex is located in the state of Tlaxcala, 24 kilometers from Puebla. It is inspired by small European villages with views of the Popocatepetl, Iztaccihuatl and La Malinche volcanoes.
The named Santa Águeda hacienda is located 15 minutes from the city of Tlaxcala and its origin dates back to the Porfiriato. The houses that this site houses were built of stone and brick with French decorations and beautiful balconies.
With an unrivalled architecture inspired by the Italian region of Tuscany, Val'Quirico is the ideal place to be in peace and quiet, as well as providing peace and security for the whole family and even enjoying a romantic atmosphere in the company of your partner.
How did it come about?
A millionaire shareholder fell in love with Tuscany so much that he thought of reproducing an identical atmosphere in a Mexican space. This is how Val'Quirico or Valle de Quirico was created, built in honor of the Italian village that venerates the saint of the same name, San Quirico.
The buildings nestled in this artificial Tuscan-like village were made of stone, adobe, wood and brick.
What to do in this little town?
In the middle of its cobbled and European-style streets, visitors can feel the experience of eating something more exotic in one of its restaurants, offering crocodile, as well as visiting some other Mexican food or seafood.
You can take advantage of the day to start a horseback ride or take a bike ride. However, it will be important to mention that the weather is normally very warm, so evenings are also highly recommended. Its paths are lit with torches at nightfall, which gives a more beautiful touch to the site.
A wide variety of restaurants are recommended by diners and are ideal for a pleasant afternoon with live music and drinks of your choice.
From accessing a carousel, visiting souvenir shops or the bird sanctuary, practicing archery, to getting to know the areas specially designed for the youngest members of the household, are activities that can be considered upon arrival.
