Netflix has released the first full trailer for its upcoming police action comedy The Takedown (in English) or The Incompatible for Latin America. On this occasion, the renowned French actor, comedian and comedian Omar Sy (Untouchable Friends) teams up again with Laurent Lafitte, in the continuation of The Other Side of the Track. The French film is part of Netflix's campaign to increase local productions.

The story focuses on Ousmane Diakité (Sy) and François Monge (Lafitte), two policemen who do not combine, due to their very different styles, trajectories and careers who, after a decade, come together for a criminal investigation that takes them all over France. And, what appeared to be a simple drug deal becomes a high-level case shrouded in danger and an unexpected comedy. Izia Higelin and Dimitri Storoge, among others, also perform.

The sequel to Incompatible (2012) is directed by Louis Leterrier and written by Stéphane Kazandjian. Leterrier commented that the film is a logical continuation of a close relationship with Omar Sy. “We get along so well in Lupin that we look for other projects. I found Stéphane Kazandjian's script extremely fun and dynamic on current issues that are difficult to address in a comedy,” said the actor.

On the other hand, Sy added: “I really liked the reversal of the dynamics of the first film: Ousmane becomes police commissioner, while François, who previously played the role of authority figure, does not have the professional progress he expected and remains in the background. The script plays with the usual ideas of buddy-movies, but for a new era.”

The trailer begins with a tense scene, in which the crime-solving duo break into what appears to be a martial arts training session. But soon, the tension is cut off when Ousmane makes a joke that refers to the book and the film of the same title Fifty Shades of Gray. From there, the minute and a half of the trailer balances fragments of intense action sequences with moments of pure humor.

The producers are Eric and Nicolas Altmayer of Mandarin et Compagnie for Netflix, who continue to bet on international projects. After the success of Lupin, the platform does not want to stop supporting content and stories coming from France.

The incompatible 2 arrive on Netflix on May 6.
