It has been 5 years since that April 14, 2017, the headlines of the entertainment world in Colombia took the covers of the mainstream media announcing the death of Martín Elias while he was traveling on the road that leads to the municipality of San Onofre, Sucre. And although his presence is no longer on this earthly plane, his followers continue to remember him through his songs and pay homage every year in front of his grave.
On April 8, Dayana Jaimes, the artist's widow, shared a round of 'questions and answers' with her followers who took the opportunity to inquire whether she would pay any kind of tribute to the artist on April 14. However, her response was forceful and she pointed out that she would only attend the cemetery in the company of her daughter Paula Elena Díaz where the remains of the performer of songs such as' Open 'and 'I will love you' rest.
“For my part nothing, nothing, I have never agreed with this kind of thing that goes to the cemetery, they bring mariachis, they play the box, the guacharaca, the accordion. It's very respectable, but I don't share those things,” said Dayana Jaimes through her 'InstaStories'.
However, although Jaimes assured that he would not hold any kind of public event in commemoration of the death of his partner because he knows what his followers are like, he did share an emotional message on his official Instagram account in which he exceeds 1.9 million followers, accompanied by a video with the best moments that the artist experienced in throughout his artistic career and the moments he enjoyed with his children.
“April 14, 2017. That day you left our lives forever. My friend left, my boyfriend, my husband, and the best father I could choose for Paula. Today is not an easy date for me, since that day my life changed completely, I was not the same again, sometimes I am fragile and sometimes so strong... Nothing has been easy since you are gone”, the influencer also wrote initially in her publication.

And he concluded: “... Thank you so much, bear of my life, you will always be present in our lives. No matter what happens.”
