Santander de Quilichao (Cauca) has been one of the areas hardest hit by the armed conflict in the country, but in the midst of violence a sign of hope and overcoming appears thanks to a young woman who is currently a figure of one of the best-known brands in the world. This is 17-year-old Valentina Nazarit Machín, who was just finishing her high school and recently became the first Colombian model for the French firm, Louis Vuitton.
Its story is as surprising as it is emotional, as it began in a shopping center in the south of Cali. There, a 'talent scout' noticed her and handed her a card, offering her a promising modeling career in passing, as collected by the portal El Shabbat.
Who was that mystery man? Neither more nor less than a photographer and director of the NV Models agency. Thanks to him, Nazarit Machín was signing a contract with that company in a matter of eight days. It was at that moment that she saw more closely the dream of her life: to be on the great catwalks of the world.
What happens next is almost unreal for her: a woman told her that she had become the new Louis Vuitton girl and in the face of the young woman's disbelief, that woman repeated the good news to her. That same night she traveled to Paris and the next day she was already doing modeling castings.

The selection of the Colombian was not easy, as thousands of boys and girls from all over the world had participated in the call. However, one of her advantages, in addition to her bearing and curly hair that match her brunette complexion and drooping look, was that her modeling career had started her three years ago, where she managed a routine based on her school, homework and catwalks.
He was in the French capital on behalf of Louis Vuitton, a brand that had paid for his tickets: if he passed the castings, he stayed; if not, he would return to Colombia. But beyond that condition, I was living a dream.
“I saw all the bags next to me and I said: I'm here. I loved everything, ever since they put my shoes on, I thought 'I have some Louis Vuitton shoes on, I didn't believe it'”, she told the media outlet. Then, she jumped onto the catwalk, hundreds of eyes were detailing her, but she pretended she was alone. That strategy worked for him. Its design was made by Nicolás Gueskiè, who previously worked for Balenciaga and was now the creative of Louis Vuitton.
After that experience, he stayed in Paris for a month, getting to know the city and enjoying its landscapes. Afterwards, she returned to Colombia waiting for the final call, and was finally selected as the brand's exclusive model for a year, partly thanks to her modeling performance in the firm's Autumn-Winter 2022 campaign.
Currently, she maintains a low profile on social networks, but as more people know the story, fame increases, as well as the amount of flattery for the young woman who, on her Instagram profile, has already published her best moments from the catapult that catapulted her as the first Colombian to be part of the exclusive models of the brand.
