The death of Bonaventure's 'El Colosso' still shocks the country, because, since the regrettable traffic accident in which he was involved, his life weakened until Wednesday, April 13. Regarding the death of the former footballer there are still several doubts, the picture is rather confusing, considering that the footballer's companions inside the vehicle disappeared and their versions are in the air. Their testimonies are missing to clarify what happened.
The incident occurred around 4:30 in the morning of last Monday, April 11, when the Ford truck with UGR 410 plates was mobilizing for race 34, in the east-west direction in Santiago de Cali. The cameras revealed that the vehicle in which the player was driving passed the red light on fifth street and, subsequently, collided with a bus of the Massive Integrated of the West (MIO), which traveled from north to south on this road.
The cameras of a building located on race 34, allow us to show the minute by minute of the accident. The brutal crash shows how the bus managed to make a turn after colliding and crashed into a liquor store, while the car where the former striker was moving was moved several meters by the impact and ended up on the right bank of the fifth street road.
Seconds after the crash, you can see two people descending from Rincón's van, while a taxi returns to the MIO station and picks them up. The question to be resolved is why did these people not help Freddy Rincón and what was the reason for fleeing, even though they were also linked to the tragic event?
Regarding the companions of 'El Colosso', it was possible to establish that there were two women identified as Diana Lorena Cortés, 43 years old and Maria Manuela Mejia, age 20. However, doubt arises about a fourth individual who would allegedly be the driver of the vehicle. Despite the fact that some unofficial versions indicate that Freddy Rincón was the driver, however, it is evident that the greatest impact was suffered by the co-driver, which would rule out this hypothesis initially.
According to the mayor of Cali, Jorge Iván Ospina, the car did not belong directly to the porteño, since it is registered under another name. In addition, the documents would not be in order at the time of the accident
There are certain doubts about the fourth person who was in the vehicle. Rafael Rincón, Freddy's brother, told the newspaper El Pais that Tomas Díaz Valencia (the former player's maternal brother) was driving the vehicle, however, he later ruled it out: he explained that on the day of the accident Freddy was accompanied only by friends, a version that Tomás Humberto later confirmed, noting that days ago he did not was meeting the former player.
As Vladimir Mosquera, friend of Freddy Rincón, told the newspaper El País, on Sunday night, April 10, the former footballer met with the former mayor of Buenaventura, Édison Ruiz, and the salsa artist, Harold Saa, as they used to meet to talk about football and share traditional food to the sound of the congas and the bell: salsa was the favorite genre of the legendary former football player.
Mosquera indicated that they were sharing with each other until late at night, but he left the place as soon as he felt tired and heard from Rincón again after the accident. In addition, he added that his friend was sober, although he could not determine who was accompanying him precisely on the night before the accident.
