The presence of lawyer Paolo Salerno in the Chamber of Deputies caused a great wave of criticism among legislators because at that session there was talk on the Electricity Reform, which will be voted on this Sunday, April 17.
The Italian lawyer was identified as a “lobbyist” on behalf of the Democratic Revolution Party (PRD) bench despite the fact that the latter denied it, as well as the deputy Edna Gisel Díaz Acevedo with whom he was in the session.
Faced with the images captured of Salerno's presence in which the deputy of the Aztec sun is also seen, party members supported the deputy after arguing that with the dissemination of the photos , attacks of gender-based violence came against Edna Díaz.
Likewise, they argued that Salerno presented himself as an advisor and not as a lobbyist on camera, and they were against the statements of President Andrés Manuel López Obrador (AMLO), who during his morning conference presented the images and assured that if the Reformation is not accepted in San Lázaro, it was because of the intervention of “lobbyists or coyotes”.
Therefore, the deputy from Peru published a statement on her social networks in which she stated that the images released were taken out of context and did not have any relationship or link with the lawyer. He also called the attacks” a “calculated and orchestrated misogynistic aggression” by Morena.
Finally, he pointed out that these attacks have escalated to worrying levels, which made “the vice-coordinator of the majority bank, Congressman Leonel Godoy Rangel, absolutely responsible, for what could happen to me and my family”.
To which the president of the Public Broadcasting System of the Mexican State (SPR), Jenaro Villamil, went on the attack against what was said by Deputy Edna Díaz.
Through his official Twitter account, the head of the SPR, who has repeatedly defended the president and his government dubbed the Fourth Transformation (Q4), argued that the PRD used “euphemisms” to talk about lobbyists and public denunciation.
By the way, Salerno was singled out as an entrepreneur belonging to a foreign company known as Enel, of Italian origin. As a result of the scandal, the company issued a statement stating that Salerno had any working relationship with the company.
However, despite the fact that the Aztec Sun Party tried to deny connections with the lawyer, a document signed by the coordinator of the PRD Parliamentary Group, Gerardo Cabrera Velázquez, came to light, which proved the opposite, as it showed that Salerno was requested access within the legislative precinct.
And in that document it can be seen that they requested Salerno's access to advise the deputy.
Before Edna Díaz's statement, political analyst Abraham Mendieta shared the document and commented that even it states that 'you put it in, to “assist” you personally, 'since you can read that he went to advise the deputy and deputy Mauricio Prieto.
