Located 13 kilometers northwest of the capital of the region La Libertad, we find the most important seaside resort in Trujillo. Here you can see the totora horses that are ancient boats of the Mochica and Chimu cultures, which are currently used for fishing. It is a town and seaside resort located 45 kilometers south of Trujillo, in the district of Virú. There is the cove that is the starting point for the Guañape Islands, where there are several species of marine fauna such as sea lions, guano birds, sea turtles, among others.

- Calipuy National Shrine:

This place was officially created on January 8, 1981 in order to conserve species of wild fauna and flora such as the guanaco and the Raimondi puya.

This forest is of great importance and admiration, because the pujas of Raimondi live between 40 and 100 years to bloom and do so for three months before they die. The fauna that exists in this place is really surprising; within this reserve you will find animals such as guanaco, puma, coastal fox, Andean fox, weasel, deer, spectacled bear, vizcacha, among others.

The Sanctuary is located in the provinces of Santiago de Chuco and Virú.

- Huacas del Sol y la Luna:

It is an archaeological adobe complex located five kilometers south of Trujillo. It is a building in the shape of a stepped pyramid about 43 meters high.

- Chan Chan:

Located about 5 kilometers northwest of the city of Trujillo, in the Moche Valley. This capital urban center of the Chimu kingdom is the largest mud city in pre-Hispanic America. In 1986, Chan Chan was declared a World Heritage Site by Unesco. This is an ancient citadel of quincha that envelops a whole mystery inside.

Just as the Lord of Sipan exists, the Lady of Cao was one of the first rulers discovered in that place. This place is 1 hour from the city of Trujillo and its tourist activity revolves around the archaeological complex El Brujo.

HOW TO TRAVEL TO TRUJILLO FROM LIMA?
