After the fire of three cargo trucks stranded at the Reynosa-Pharr International Bridge, Tamaulipas authorities arrested three alleged members of the Gulf Cartel who participated in the actions that led to the liberation of the road.

According to security reports, state police arrested the unarmed individuals, even though local reports had indicated that the alleged members of organized crime came forward to attack the drivers.

Until 16:30 on April 13, official reports indicated that the agents pursued a group of vans, as they were suspected of intervening in the acts of violence near the Bouloevard Colosio.

Upon reaching them, the subjects were secured without weapons and the unit in which they were traveling was also confiscated. While another abandoned unit was likewise seized. During the operation there were no clashes with firearms and the situation was under control three hours after the first reports of risk.

Allegedly, those identified as members of the Gulf Cartel arrived at noon and burned a trailer at the top of the overpass, on Avenida Internacional and the Reynosa-Matamoros Bypass.

Another tractor truck was located on the banks of the Rio Bravo-Reynosa highway. Nearby, another vehicle was set on fire, in the vicinity of the Colonial Industrial Park, on Bypass 2 Sur. Devices known as tyre punches were thrown in the surroundings.
