Recently, the Ministry of Labor and Social Security (STPS) announced that it opened 40,000 vacancies for the Youth Building the Future program, so that people between 18 and 29 years of age who do not study or work, can develop and strengthen their skills in companies, workshops, businesses and institutions in which they will be given training with the aim of increasing their employability possibilities for the future.

In addition to receiving tutoring for one year, those interested will be able to receive financial support of up to 5,528 pesos per month, as well as health insurance against illness, maternity or risks in the workplace. The first step to apply for any of the vacancies will be to enter the following link: https://jovenesconstruyendoelfuturo.stps.gob.mx/registro_aprendiz.

To complete the pre-registration, applicants will have to declare, under protest of telling the truth, that they are not currently enrolled in an educational institution or working, as well as that they meet the requirements established to be part of the social program.

The form will have to enter information related to the applicants' profile, such as name, address, level of study and areas of interest in which they would like to participate. After pre-registration, the system will generate a folio and a file, as well as a username and password with which to continue the process.

The next step in completing the registration is to verify that the data is correct and, subsequently, the following documents can be uploaded to the Youth Building the Future website:

1. Official identification can be read on both sides.

2. Proof of address. It can be a property ticket or receipt for water, electricity or telephone.

3. Photograph of the applicant's face with the QR code provided by the Digital Platform at the time of registration.

To complete this step you will need to locate the applicant's address within the website and download the program's letter of commitment, as well as the registration form. Once the process is completed, the STPS will validate the data provided to participate in the one-year program.

After data validation, participants will be able to apply for a vacancy and, subsequently, they will interview the tutors or trainers of the site where they wish to work under this modality.

It is worth remembering that the activities will take place in days of five to eight hours for five days a week and beneficiaries will have the opportunity to change their workplace once during their participation in the program, either by their own decision or by decision of the workspace in which they were originally employed.

In addition, there will be monthly tutor-to-apprentice and apprentice-to-tutor assessments to follow up the training process. At the end of the training, the young person will receive a document attesting to the skills he acquired during the training. If you are not hired at the Work Centre where you were trained, the Platform will offer a menu of options that will make it easier for you to enter the labor market.

According to the STPS, since the beginning of the program's operation, 396,761 apprentices have been linked to a workspace. Of these, 190 thousand 775 are women and 130 thousand 891 are men. In addition, most of the young people enrolled in the program belong to the preparatory level, while the average age of the beneficiaries is 19 years.
