This Wednesday HBO Max presented the trailer for Made for Love, the series that follows a couple in a conflictive process of separation that includes a chip in which he watched all her movements and saw everything she saw. As previously announced, season 2 will debut with two episodes on Thursday, April 28 and then two new episodes each week.
The series mixes humor and science fiction, but also gets into the dramatic story of a daughter and a father for rebuilding their relationship. Made for Love was one of the coolest proposals of last year. The plot follows Hazel Green, who discovers that her husband Byron Gogol, owner of a large technology company, implanted a chip in her brain that gives her access to all her thoughts. Faced with this situation, Hazel decides to flee.
This is the official synopsis that describes the following: “Based on Alissa Nutting's novel, Made for Love is a poignantly humorous story about modern love and divorce. The first season followed Hazel Green (Cristin Milioti), a woman in her thirties who flees after ten years in a suffocating marriage to tech billionaire Byron Gogol (Billy Magnussen), who is as smart as she is insufferable. After discovering that her husband implanted a monitoring device, the 'Made for Love' chip in her brain, which allowed her to track her, observe her and learn her “emotional data”, Hazel flees to her hometown in the desert to take refuge with her outcast father Herbert (Ray Romano) and her synthetic partner, Diane. In the second season, to save her father's life, Hazel returns to the Hub, Byron's high-tech palace. But once inside, she and Byron are trapped by Gogol's latest revolutionary (and dangerous) technology.”
In season 2, Hazel must return to Byron's high-tech palace, from which she escaped, but in this case it will be to save her father's life after having rebuilt the relationship in season one. Once inside, she will be trapped in a new project that will re-manifest the toxic basis of her relationship, but also rethink her own desires.
A dark humor story about modern love and divorce that HBO Max used as one of his cover letters in Latin America. It also addresses the dark and twisted side of technology, close to the intentions of Black Mirror.
Additional cast for season two includes Dan Bakkendahl (The Goldbergs) as Herringbone, Noma Dumezweni (The Undoing) as Fiffany, Caleb Foote (The Kids Are Alright) as Bennett, and Sarunas J. Jackson (Good Trouble, Insecure) as Jay.
Made for Love premieres its second season on April 28 with two episodes and on HBO Max.
