According to preliminary information, a driver of a truck carrying flowers was victimized by several men who posed as policemen, who forced him to border, in order to allegedly carry out a control and search procedure. Later, they took him away in a private vehicle, but were stopped at a checkpoint set up by real agents in Bogotá.
The incident occurred in the Siberian sector at the exit from Bogotá on 80th Street, “they put a car in front and a motorcycle and left a single lane. I was told 'do it, do it' (move forward). Already when I was passing in front of the car they told me 'tell you that I'm going to requisition'. They didn't even let me out of the car when about seven fell there, they gave me a head and put me in the car, they put the jacket on my head,” the 63-year-old driver told Noticias Caracol.
According to the victim, he was threatened several times and managed to transfer him to the Galerias sector of Bogotá. In addition, he noted that fortunately two patrolmen carrying out surveillance work in the sector saved his life while he was still in the robbers' vehicle.
Likewise, he also mentioned that “a policeman approached the glass and I beckoned him. He noticed and he put them against the wall. He saved me, because they were going to kill me.”
Authorities reported that the stolen truck was found in the San Cristobal sector, south of Bogotá.
For their part, the three Colombians and one Venezuelan, were captured and transferred to the Paloquemao Immediate Reaction Unit (URI); they carried a blank revolver with which they intimidated the merchant. They will be charged and the arrest legalization hearing will be held.
In the middle of last March, former footballer Faustino 'Tino' Asprilla reported that criminals entered his farm, located in Tuluá, Valle del Cauca and stole several valuables from him. On April 10, one of the suspects was captured and, in the last hours, the man was sent to jail for his alleged involvement in the robbery of the former football player's property and surrounding estates.
This was announced by the Attorney General's Office in recent hours, noting that they succeeded in the prosecution of George Michael Orjuela Ríos, alias' Barbas', having enough evidence to point him out as one of the members of the criminal gang that has been stealing from farms in Tuluá and surrounding municipalities, including owned by the famous Colombian. Although the man did not accept the charges, he was ordered to comply with an insurance measure in the prison center.
For the investigating body, alias' Barbas' is part of the criminal network identified as 'Los Finqueros', who have been stealing livestock and valuables from farms in Valle del Cauca. Among the robberies that the authorities have been able to link to this criminal gang is one that happened on February 27 in the Sonso district, in Guacarí, where they stole 13 heads of cattle.
The second was on the farm of 'Tino' on March 13, in rural San Pedro, when several armed men entered the land owned by the former player and threatened the local workers. From the estate of the former footballer, according to the Prosecutor's Office, alias' Barbas' and his accomplices they took tools, clothing, jewelry, cash, and personal items of the victims.
