Sporting Cristal returned to Lima with a controversial defeat to Universidad Católica for the second date of the group stage of the 2022 Copa Libertadores. Although they took the tie out of his hands, Roberto Mosquera decided not to talk about refereeing and focused on his team's performance.

In order not to make any more anger, I stayed with the team's performance. I think we are competing internationally, we had made a clarination with Flamengo, which is a super team, we are talking 150 million in contracts and we are not reaffirming in the way we play,” said coach 'celeste' at the airport Jorge Chavez for ESPN.

He also did not hesitate to send a message to his detractors. “We show what some say we don't have, it's one thing to present a team patched with Vallejo with players like Távara and Olivares who haven't played for a long time. They judge and qualify very quickly and hurt, but we already know how things are at Cristal.”

“We played a good game, I don't know if to win but the draw was good. So we feel sad, however in performance, character and mood we are calm”, concluded the Peruvian coach.

Sporting Cristal fell 2-1 to U. Católica with a penalty on the end.

Roberto Mosquera did not refer to the prison that did not exist at the end of the engagement. “I never talked about a referee and I am not going to do it now, nor will I judge his decisions because it has never seemed to me. The referee does not have a press conference,” he said at a press conference in Chile.
