It is noteworthy that, according to a recent report by the Institute for Urban Development (IDU), between January and March 2022, nine processes have been awarded for the construction of road infrastructure, which have represented investments of more than 22,345 million pesos, which also reflect the momentum of the economy in the city and the generation of new jobs for about 12,821 workers who carry out these works.

In addition to this, the IDU reported that resources exceeding 335,780 million pesos have been transferred, of which 239,754 million pesos were allocated to works, auditing and consulting contracts currently under way, and 8,036 million pesos for the purchase of the properties required to advance the projects.

The 12,821 workers who participate in these road infrastructure works are, for the most part, unskilled labor that reaches the projects thanks to the calls that are held frequently in the different towns of Bogotá.

The entity also highlighted that another aspect that has contributed to boosting the economy is the 125 permits granted by the IDU for the use of public space, of which 62 correspond to the 'Bogotá a Cielo Abierto' campaign, and 61 to the holding of temporary markets and two for public calamity activities.
