Ventanarosa Productions, the production house of Salma Hayek, announced that it has its cast ready to begin the recordings of its first collaboration with Televisa Univision, Quiero tu vida. Among the talent that will be part of this project are Barbara de Regil, Natalia Tellez and Zuria Vega.

Deadline announced on April 12 that Salma Hayek, with her producer, finally announced their cast for Quiero tu vida, a film that will be shot in Mexico City. In addition to Barbara de Regil, Natalia Tellez and Zuria Vega, Erick Elias and Jesús Zavala will be inside.

The protagonist of the story will be Nico, played by Erick Elias, “a young football player”, who will see how his career will stop when he suffers a devastating injury while playing; “Nico becomes a resentful man who fantasizes about what his life could have been like”.

“When the universe magically gives him a chance to live the life he always dreamed of, Nico learns that fame and glory can be deceptive, and sometimes happiness comes in the most unexpected ways,” the statement released reads.

The film is based on the screenplay by José Tamez and Jorge García Castro, produced by Salma Hayek and Tamez under Ventanarosa Productions, accompanied by García Castro; Jorge Colón is the director.

This will be the first project in collaboration with Televisa Univision for the ViX+ platform, which will release only content in Spanish and most of its talent will be Latino.

It was on February 16 that Televisa Univision announced that it will have Salma Hayek as one of its producers for at least two years and will make exclusive content for its streaming platform.

Through a statement released by Variety, Salma shared that Quiero tu vida will be one of the first projects with which she intends to innovate the content provided via streaming to Latin American audiences.

Salma shared that working with Televisa Univision gives her great excitement, because it means returning to Mexico, but now not as an actress, but as a producer. In addition, he will be reinstated, in part, to the company where he started his career.

I started my career in Mexico making soap operas, so being able to go back and make movies is very exciting, since cinema is my first love. I am touched by the enormous support that the Latino community has always given me. Together with our partners at Televisa Univision, Ventanarosa looks forward to working with Latino talent to tell new stories of Spanish-speaking voices,” he said in an interview with Variety.

On March 31, ViX and ViX+ began to serve with 50,000 hours of content for the Hispanic public and it is expected that in the coming months the original productions will also begin to be released.

The alliance between Televisa and Univision aims to be the most important broadcaster of Spanish-language content internationally, since not only will they have exclusive content such as the movie Quiero tu vida or the remake of Senda Porhibida, but will also stream all the telenovelas that both companies have created.

Like Hayek, Eugenio Derbez joined Televisa Univision so that, under his production house 3Pas Studios, he creates exclusive content for the streaming platform. In addition, the comedian has a space where all the content he made with Televisa years ago was released.
