A fact was reported through the social networks of Caracol TV journalist Sebastián Palacio, who commented on a video how he was intimidated by a taxi driver in the city of Medellín. The journalist narrated in the video that the only thing unfortunate was not the violent reaction of the driver but the response given by the authorities arriving 20 minutes after calling them and pointing out the social communicator as a liar.

According to the journalist Palacio, the event would have occurred because both he and the taxi driver decided to park in the same place, but then the situation got out of control due to the violent reaction of the driver, the communicator said: “While a taxi driver was parking or trying to park at the same point where I I was trying to park, because the taxi driver gets upset, gets out of his vehicle, pulls out a knife, intimidates me, then runs after me to try to intimidate me. Fortunately, there was a security person, he gives me help at that time and we called the police.”

Palacio said it took about 20 minutes for the authorities to reach the place where the journalist had called them, enough time for the driver to get rid of the stab: “The paradoxical aspect of the case is the following: when the uniformed men arrive, the taxi driver no longer had the sharp element in his possession. When they do the requisition, they didn't find any sharp elements. The mood was up when I saw how a person tries to intimidate you, to attack you with a gun, I insist, it may not happen to adults, but at the moment I don't have a way to measure whether or not the person intends to hurt”.

The complaint does not end there, Palacio comments that after the authorities arrived they called him a liar since they did not find, 20 minutes later, the alleged weapon with which he had been threatened.

So, you can't point out to the gentleman that he has a razor. In other words, the problem is not solved by telling lies, the problem is solved by talking”, it is appreciated to say to the uniformed in the video.

At the end of the audiovisual material published by the journalist you can see how he was actually intimidated by a guy who had a knife in his hand.

Caracol journalist denounces alleged assault and omission of the National Police

In other news about the 'city of eternal spring', a serious complaint was made recently by the inhabitants of the Robledo La Portada neighborhood, in Medellín. According to the community, two policemen who were enjoying their days off fired several times in the air, apparently under the influence of alcohol.

The allegations indicate that the two police officers were consuming alcoholic beverages when they started shooting in the air in a residential area of Medellin, where children and elderly people are passing through.

Although the police arrived at the site last Monday, after citizens repeatedly denounced the bad behavior of the uniformed at rest, nothing apparently happened at that time as officials were prevented from entering the home of one of the policemen involved.

However, the Metropolitan Police of the Aburrá Valley ruled against the incident and assured that the respective investigations into these events are already under way.

“According to information from the community, these are two people who were shooting in the air. The report has already been submitted and it is important to tell the community that the National Police does not tolerate these events, that our disciplinary status is agile in the face of the conduct that occurs,” said the commander of the Metropolitan Police of the Aburrá Valley, Colonel José Galindo.
