Filming began on Disney's new series, “The Secret Score: The Lead Enigma”

The film will hit the streaming service in 2023 with music as a central element

Disney+ announced the start of recordings of The Secret Score: The Lead Enigma, a new mystery and fantasy series from the label. Made in Mexico by Telemexico Studios, the new production revolves around a group of young people who attend a prestigious conservatory, where they discover a score that gives them strange powers. The series features orchestral versions of songs by artists such as Julieta Venegas and Los Auténticos Decadentes.

The Secret Score: The Lead Enigma presents a cast of young actors and actresses composed of Val Dorantes (Maya), Juanma Piano (Max), José Peralta (Leo), Michelle Almaguer (Nati), César Acosta (Rafa), Daniel Ábrego (Tenoch), Leonardo Lotina (Andy), Natalia Coronado (Connie), Monica Plehn (Pauline) and Diego Sandoval (Pepe).

The film tells the story of Maya, a 16-year-old girl who enrolls in a prestigious conservatory seeking answers to the enigmatic disappearance of her boyfriend Leo, a student at the renowned music school. Together with a group of colleagues, Maya discovers an intriguing score that, when interpreted, gives them strange powers. They will try to keep the discovery a secret, not knowing that danger lies in wait for them because someone else at the conservatory is looking for the score and has dark intentions.

The series combines elements of fantasy, mystery and humor that will catch the audience from the first episode. The importance of teamwork, the value of friendship and the responsibility that comes with the use of extraordinary powers are some of the topics that the story addresses, which in turn highlights Mexican identity through numerous visual resources.

The production will be filmed in Mexico City, including a mysterious building where much of the action takes place, and in magical locations in the interior of the country. As for the cast, it is completed by David Angulo (Gael), Emmanuel Okaury (Dod), Julieta Ortiz (” La Mayora”) and Paola Gómez (Catalina). Composed of eight 30-minute episodes, The Secret Score: The Lead Enigma is directed by Juan Carlos de Llaca.

So far there is no exact release date, so we have to keep waiting while they give us the opportunity to watch the first advances.
