A screen that projects a video with advertising about the delivery of computers by the Mayor's Office of Medellín and alternates political propaganda of the current Senator and Presidential Candidate Gustavo Petro's campaign is the subject of public accusations to Mayor Daniel Quintero for an alleged participation in politics.

This is the second incident in less than a week that Quintero stars, who will face an investigation by the Attorney General's Office for participation in politics arising from his statements on his social media accounts.

For this occasion, a citizen video detected the screen in Castilla, an area in downtown Medellín, where after a minute of institutional publicity the document of the Historical Pact campaign for the presidency of the Republic appears.

Citizen outrage reached social networks where different screenshots were published with complaints to the local government for what appears to be an alleged participation in politics.

Although the communications office of the Mayor's Office of Medellín has not issued an official statement regarding this mechanism, the campaign of candidate Petro, led by its debate chief, Alfonso Prada, distorted any relationship with the political propaganda exhibited in the capital of Antioquia:

Some of the episodes that have caused discomfort among the opposition regarding a link between Mayor Daniel Quintero and the Historical Pact campaign have shown a rift between political sectors in Medellín.

For example, a visit to the city by the wife of candidate Gustavo Petro, Verónica Alcocer, gave something to talk about because of the accompaniment of the mayor's partner, Diana Osorio, who took a tour of some parts of the city.

In the midst of the controversy, Quintero third to protect the image of his wife, who was singled out at the time as a probable vice-presidential record of Petro — a place that was occupied by Francia Márquez:

“Some media have shown that Diana and Verónica are making tours of Antioquia and they try to say that this is eventually political participation and no, the first ladies or social managers are not public servants, and if Diana were given to vote for Uribe or for whoever she wants, she couldn't say no,” said the mayor of Medellin.

Another one that prompted complaints from the opposition was the departure of three of the cabinet secretaries to join the presidential campaign, with full support from the mayor, such as Esteban Restrepo, former Secretary of Government, Juan Pablo Ramírez, former Secretary of Social Inclusion and Juan Carlos Upegui, former Secretary of the No. Violence.

The latter prompted a lawsuit to the Attorney General's Office by the Councillor of the Democratic Center, Simón Molina, who compiled a portfolio of statements in networks and in the press by Mayor Daniel Quintero for the Public Prosecutor's Office to investigate his relationship with Gustavo Petro's campaign.

“It seems to me that he is acting improperly and participating in politics clearly in favor of Gustavo Petro's campaign. In addition, there are many complaints by contractors, by officials who are making themselves available since the Quintero campaign and with public resources,” Molina said in statements to El Nuevo Siglo in the previous Sunday edition.
