Edson Zúñiga “El Norteño” recalled when a cartel offered him 800,000 to transport a briefcase

The world of show business and organized crime is constantly intermingling, as several drug leaders have had close relationships with actors, comedians, hosts and producers; one of these cases is that of Edson Zúñiga, best known for his character El Compayito, who received an offer from a member of the Beltran Leyva.

In conversation with Yordi Rosado on his YouTube channel, the comedian explained that he was offered 800,000 pesos in exchange for carrying a briefcase, however, Edson Zúñiga El Norteño rejected the proposal:

“At some point they offered me a business but I said no, because I don't know but my dad is a military man, so if you come in, you go out with tennis ahead and I don't wear sneakers, it won't look bad on them,” said the comedian, showing his formal shoes and using his peculiar sense of humor.

The mention of the cartel arose because the humorist was mentioning to Yordi Rosado that he could talk to anyone regardless of his economic level or his activities “Even to the Beltrán Leyva”, although he explained that he would not be involved in the drug trafficking business, since they are people who have lost sensitivity.

“They are people just like us, I don't have to judge because they are human beings just like us, the difference is that either they don't believe in God or they don't have a mother and then they lose that fear”

The people who made that offer explained to Edson Zúñiga that they thought it was an excellent “vehicle” to transport the contents of the briefcase because of its behavior in giving shows, since it did not seem to have an obvious or predictable route.

“They told me to bring a portfolio, they told me 'we follow absolutely everyone, we know how people move and you are one of the very few who have no order in their movement, that is, many people come to Guadalajara and make Ciudad Guzmán, Tepatitlán... you don't, wey, you do Reynosa, border, Chiapas, Mexicali all in three days, you're a p* inche marble in a huge box and that interests us, '” recalled the comedian.

During the conversation with Yordi Rosado, the comedian said that the cartel member was surprised by his response, as Edson's concern was safety, specifically when he goes to the bathroom, and not any other aspect of his life.

“(They tell me) it is a portfolio that you are going to move and I said 'No wey' and he says 'A lot of money, Edson, (do you) have a lot of money so that for 8000 thousand for a portfolio you say no? '” , he explained. The response from El Norteño was “It's not that, it's that I poop* alone, you don't”.

The comedian told Yordi that the alleged drug trafficker admitted that he has vigilance even when he goes to the toilet, but he said surprised at the peculiar answer “Everyone tells me 'No, it's that I have children, I have a family, but no one had mentioned my way of pooping, '” recalled the humorist.

Finally, he exchanged contact number with the drug dealer and he made him a peculiar offer: “We were friends, he gave me his card and he said 'if you have a problem with Satan, call me' and I have never had problems with Satan,” he laughed. Likewise, Edson clarified that he never felt pressured, compelled or intimidated to participate in the proposal.

In the same interview, the comedian revealed that everything happened during a time that he worked for “La maestra” in Guerrero: “I was flying for Elba Esther Gordillo (...) We were going to Monterrey, to Nuevo León, to Chiapas, because the lady is from Chiapas, to Guadalajara, everywhere. I was a co-pilot and the captain (was) Chavez,” he recalled.

Edson revealed that Elba Esther abused drinking on a daily basis: “These people, all people, are normal people. This lady who had some workloads, very strong emotional burdens (...) So, what's going on there? She drank but she was pretty”, he said.
