Easter in Lima. If you think that staying in Lima you can't get to know new places, you're wrong, since you can do it in the cheapest way possible just by transporting on Line 1 of the Lima Metro.
So this Thursday 14th and Friday 15th April, the dates on which the religious holiday of Holy Week is celebrated, you can use the Lima electric train that has a long journey from Villa El Salvador to San Juan de Lurigancho to get to know some destinations in Lima.
There are 11 districts covered by this service and within them there are more than 5 destinations that you can visit during your trip on the train. Keep in mind that the ticket costs S/ 1.50 for adults and S/ 0.75 cents for those who have the half-fare card. If you don't have the Lima Metro card, you can buy it at any of the stations at a cost of S/ 5 soles.
THESE ARE THE DESTINATIONS YOU CAN VISIT:
1. Los Jardines Station: One block from Los Jardines Station, is the Huiracocha Zonal Club, a family recreation space that can be attended for a cost of 4 soles per adult and 1 sun per child. In addition, children from 0 to 4 years old and adults over 65 years old have free income.
2. Grau Station: Another more classic and educational option is the tour of the Historic Center of Lima, where we can find monuments, the Plaza de Armas, the Magic Water Circuit, the Exhibition Park, restaurants, among other things. From Grau Station, you can take a bus to downtown Lima in just 10 minutes.
3. La Cultura Station: Likewise , La Cultura station is the connection to various recreational places such as the surrounding shopping centers.
4. Ayacucho Station: A few minutes from the old Plaza de Surco, is the Voces por El Clima Ecological Park, which has a recreation and education space for children and can be entered with 2 plastic bottles.
5. Jorge Chavez Station: In addition, in the Surco district, 10 minutes from Jorge Chavez Station is the Amistad Park, where you can spend an afternoon with your family and take pictures that capture these moments.
6. Atocongo Station: Another recreational park for the southern neighbors is the Huayna Cápac Zonal Club, which is a 15-minute bus ride from Atocongo Station. General admission on holidays is 4 soles for adults and children 1 sun. Children from 0 to 4 years old and older adults do not pay by showing their ID.
7. María Auxiliadora Station: For adventurers, we have a trekking option close to the Maria Auxiliadora Station. From this point, you have to walk one block to José Carlos Mariátegui Avenue and there they take the Line 22 bus that takes you to the AAHH El Manantial, where the trekking route to the well-known “Colchón de Nubes” - Apu Siqay begins.
